    When I first started creating our website, I didn’t know about child themes. Now that it’s built and live, I want to create a child theme so that I can customize parts of the theme without worrying about updates.

    I’ve already watched this video http://vimeo.com/channels/aviathemes/67221517 and I’ve already got my child theme setup, but I’m afraid to activate it because it’ll be blank settings. How can I go about activating this in the most seamless way possible?

    Hi ryanmortier!

    Thank you for using Enfold.

    First, please create a backup of your database and theme files. Go to Enfold > Import / Export panel then Export Theme Settings File, just in case. Activate the child then go back to the Import / Export panel. Click the Import Settings from your Parent Theme button.

    Thank you. I had to do a couple things extra like fix the menus through the theme customization page. I also had to change the theme colours and save and then the colours fixed themselves.
