Update Notifier

Hello Kriesi,
I know this may be a bit off topic…but maybe you can help anyway.
i need a way so that my wordpress installation will send an email whenever anything needs an update, ie the theme, the plugin or wordpress itself. Is there anything out there that you can recommend?

My understanding of wordpress is a bit weak…but from what I understand anything like that would only be triggered if somebody actually called a page on a website. However I have websites where maybe only once a week somebody gets there and I still want to have daily notifications if something is out of date.
