Hello –
On this page: http://bokeheffect.com/portfolio-item/jamie_scott_appleton_wedding_photography/I am using the Easy Slider layout builder to display a slideshow of images (in this case a portfolio entry). The issue is that the slideshow will not start rolling until all of the images have loaded (which takes a while due to the number of images).
Is there a way to have the slideshow start after just a few of the images have loaded? Lazy Loading doesn’t seem to be an option since all the images are technically in the viewport at the same time.
Pingdom Page Load Test: http://fpt.pingdom.com#!/AB6yO/http://bokeheffect.com/portfolio-item/jamie_scott_appleton_wedding_photography/
The only alternative I can’t think of now would be to change away from a slideshow and use a grid layout (so that lazy loading would work).
Thanks for your help!

I didn’t found any Easy Slider in the link you posted, and the images are not found:

Sorry! After I posted that – I started messing with a grid layout on that page.
This page is another example of the issue: http://bokeheffect.com/portfolio-item/april-steven-san-diego-wedding-photography/Basically – is there a way to have the easy slider start playing as soon as 2-3 images have loaded – then the rest just load in the background?
Thanks!

That’s not possible without deeply modifying the theme files (in JS and PHP level). I’d suggest you to optimize all the images present on the page to lessen the charge, for example these images are in PNG format:

JosueMay 8, 2022 at 12:54 pm #1350940Hi,
in relation to the loading time of the easy slider:
1. Is it possible to show the first image while the others are loading?
2. Or show a “loading image”? A “very light” image that is shown while the others are loading?Best regards,
VeraMay 14, 2022 at 10:56 am #1351750Hi Vera,
1. The first image in the slide should load first. Once it’s loaded, it should be displayed.
2. There’s no functionality like that in the element unfortunately, and creating it would be out of scope of theme support.
Best regards,

okay. Thank you for the reply.
Respective 2.: if necessary a programmer could create something like that?Best regards,

Yes, it should be doable but it will require modifications that are beyond the scope of support. You may need to hire a freelancer developer or contact our partner Codeable using the form in the page below.
