Hello,
I have setup wordpress in Finnish language, but “static” texts in blog and search page for example are not in Finnish.
How to get them translated?

Please try to use the Codestyling plugin to translate or change existing text strings. Download and install the plugin ( http://wordpress.org/plugins/codestyling-localization/ ), go to Tools > Localization and select “Themes”. Then search for “Enfold” in the list and select your language and click on “Rescan” to search for all text strings. Afterwards click on “Edit” and translate/change the text strings from the “avia_framework” textdomain. At least click the “create mo file” button next to the “Textdomain” selection dropdown (top left corner). You can also use tools like Poedit instead: http://poedit.net/ and oupload the po/mo translation files into the Then upload them into the wp-content/themes/enfold/lang/ folder.

PeterMy language (Finnish FI_fi) is not on the list.. can I generate it?
When I just clicked add new language and did the scan there is 2379 strings to translate.. surely the blog texts and so one are already translated in Finnish somewhere.
Can I download some “baseline” Finnish language file somewhere and import it as base for Finnish language in Enfold and I could then just translate the strings that Enfold theme adds..?
I’m quite new to WordPress, so sorry for being little dumb.

YigitI cannot find the strings to tranlate the blog article list where it says: “6. elokuuta, 2014/0 Comments/in Pennut, Zira /by Dogs” for example.
Where are the “Comments, in, by” strings? I have used the Scan feature to make it find for the translatable strings but those are not in there when I search for them.

YigitTook a while but I found the strings… it helped to check the non case-sensitivity, altought I think I tried to search with the correct case anyways.
But now I have a new issue. I translated the strings, clicked to generate .mo file, view the blog page and.. the strings are still not translated there. Why?
Found the problem.. but don’t know how to fix it.
WP was installed with Installatron in Finnish language and it had set the language code as ‘fi’ to the config file. When I add Finnish language to Enfold with the Codestyling Localization addon it will create it with fi_FI lang code.
If I change the language code in wp config file to fi_FI, the site translates ok, but the wp dasboard changes to English.
How can I change the Enfold translation language file code to fi or make the dashboard work with fi_FI language code?
It seems that it is a “feature” of Codestyling Localization which cannot be changed.

What I did is translate the strings with Codestyling Localization and generate the .mo file, then open FTP to /wp-content/themes/enfold/lang and rename the fi_FI.mo to fi.mo.
I guess that’s the only way to go about it if using Codestyling Localization addon.

Yes, seems to be a limitation of the plugin. You can also use Poedit: http://poedit.net/ if you want to translate the files offline on your PC or Mac.
