Help please in changing margins between promo boxes

My Client wants to display 4 promo boxes side by side so I have set up 4 1/4 layout elements. The trouble is there is a huge margin between each one. It must be around 50px. I would like the promo boxes to be bigger and the margins much smaller. I actually want it to look like the portfolio grid but the Client has asked for different coloured backgrounds for the text and images which the promo boxes provide.)

I’ve tried various (actually numerous!) options but cannot work out how to do it.

It’s OK – I’ve sussed how to edit the style of the portfolio grid now so all sorted!
