When I insert a 1/3 column, it destroys everything I’ve done before !!! I have some texts blocks just over, and they are deleted and replaced by this:

    [/av_one_third]

This only happens with the last version. If I downgrade, ok still working, but the editor is impossible to use in view mode, only text editting mode is possible. That’s the reason I just decide to upgrade this morning, but now I cannot insert columns .. So finally I good back to old version, too bad I will go on to input html code manually…
That’s really not professionnal, sorry to say this, but I cannot accept to spend time to re-check everything to be sure everything works each time I upgrade.
But that confirms me habits: never upgrade a wordpress theme, or you have all your past job to review … this is the only way to protect my work. If I have new needs, better change for a whole new theme unbugged.

    Anyway thanks for support.

    Hi Luc!

I’m sorry but your post doesn’t help us to help you.

    1) You don’t mention which theme version worked for you and to which version you upgraded
    2) You don’t provide a link to your website and admin account credentials.

Afaik no other user reported broken 1/3 columns and there’s a good chance the update/upgrade didn’t work flawlessly (old files or corrupt files on your server) or a plugin causes the issue. I recommend to make a backup of the old theme files and to upload a fresh copy of the new theme files with ftp: https://vimeo.com/channels/aviathemes/67209750 . If the columns still don’t work make sure no custom code (or your child theme) may break the Enfold parent theme and deactivate all plugins if necessary…

    Best regards,
    Peter

    Peter,

I was first using the version of 2014/March/19 since the beginning I bought it, that one was ok with the column inserts and ok with any other object. But the editor was failing, I did not care and I was using html edit. Then I read in your forum yesterday that an upgrade would solve the bug. So I upgrade with version of 2014/July/09, and the editor was ok. But inserting columns (not only 1/3, but any other) make appear that new bug. So I came back first to old version when sending you my first message. After that I thought to test another version from 2014/April/17, and that one works too, except that the editor works only once ! I mean I open an existing page, then for example I make a text change in a Text Block object with the view editor, it works fine, then I close (with or without saving) and reopen it again, and that time the view editor display many lines of ~~~~~~~~~~~~~. And starting from that moment, view edit is broken. If I re-open the whole page, it works again only the first time, and so on …
I use very few extensions: Worpress SEO, Wassup, Sitetree, cforms and Duplicate Posts. I need them so desactivate them is not possible.
I can also say I have all access to the server, and I can assure you the whole new enfold folder has been copied correctly, and when I do this I just move the existing enfold folder to enfold.old to be sure that only new files will be there. Corrupted or missing file is impossible the way I work, except if they are initially corrupted in the zip file…
I have that web site to provide on Monday 8 am, I will deal with the bug but I won’t do any configuration change now. I was using Subway theme before that one and I never had problem, so I think I will change back to it for the next web site big upgrade, for my business it’s not a question of money but a question of ‘it must work’.

Thanks for your help Peter, and have a nice week-end.

    Hey!

Sorry we aren’t able to help and it unfortunately sounds like there is either a plugin conflict or possibly an error on your installation. If it was truly a bug with the theme for something as basic as adding in a column by the numbers we should have gotten a wave of reports about it from the other 30k users of the theme.

There are lots of alternative themes out there and if you have one that fits your needs better then no need to purchase another license of Enfold and you can move on without any issues :)

    Cheers!
    Devin
