Hello, all of the images on my site show up fine, but when I go to their permalink page, I get a 404 error.
Any idea why that is or how to fix it?July 31, 2014 at 11:34 pm #298480Hi,
Does it happen with the default WordPress theme? have you tried disabling all third-party plugins to see if it gets fixed?
Cheers!
JosueAugust 1, 2014 at 3:36 pm #298784It has to do with permalinks I believe. When I set them to default, it works fine. If I change to another structure, only a couple of the attachment pages work.

Is your .htaccess file writable? do you any redirection/permalink rewriting plugin?
Cheers!
JosueAugust 5, 2014 at 5:10 pm #300318My .htaccess is writable. I have Yoast SEO installed, but I tried disabling it. It seems to only happen to images that are attached to posts. Images that are attached to other taxonomies show up fine.

Thank you for the info.
Do you mind if we take a look at the actual page with the image issue? We would like to inspect it. If possible, please ask your host. Maybe they got some idea why this is happening.

I think the problem is the permalink structure. WordPress tries to load a subpage or post of this page: http://thestandardblog.com/2014/08/ramen-night/
because the image permalink ( http://thestandardblog.com/2014/08/ramen-night/toro-tartare-with-wasabi-sesame-seeds-shiso-leaf-and-fried-chicken-skin-with-togarashi-and-toro-sashimithestandardblog_posts20/ ) also contains it in the url. Did you try to change the ramen-night slug to another slug or to change the image slug on the attachment editor page?Regards,
PeterAugust 14, 2014 at 2:06 pm #304392It’s all posts, so I doubt it’s a problem with the slug.

I found the culprit. The “RecipePressReloaded” plugin breaks the attachment permalinks. I deactivated the plugin and the attachment urls work now. I also switched to the Twenty Fourteen theme (default wordpress theme) and the urls didn’t work too if the “RecipePressReloaded” plugin is activated – thus it’s definitely a plugin bug or conflict with another plugin.
Cheers!
