    Hi,

    I’ve had a look through some other threads regarding editing the error 404 page.

    When I see ‘edit via FTP’ I’m not quite sure what it means. Can I not import that page and amend like I do all other pages?

    I want to edit so all it has is the error and a search bar. Nothing else.

    Appreciate your help.

    Hey johnfash!

    No, you can’t edit from within WordPress using the normal page editor. It can only be edited via plain text either from the WordPress admin area where you can edit the theme files directly (404.php) or via FTP by download the file to your computer, editing, then reuploading to the server.
