I want to create a portfolio or gallery of videos (as opposed to images) that opens the video up in a lightbox, but can’t find any option to do so.
Any ideas?
July 10, 2014 at 3:08 am #289288I considered making a custom layout builder element and looked into the gallery shortcode, but looks like the link is done via WP default gallery…or am I missing where the link is created?
July 10, 2014 at 5:09 pm #289604Hi!
You can add the video thumbnails like a regular gallery and then make each have a custom link to the video url.

DevinJuly 10, 2014 at 7:01 pm #289689The only place I have found that allows me to enter a custom url is in the ajax portfolio option.
By video thumbnails are you referring to using a video thumbnail plugin that ads a thumbnail to the media library and then using that thumbnail in a gallery?
Can I force the video into the themes lightbox?
July 10, 2014 at 7:29 pm #289692Use the Masonry gallery option and then on each image you can add a custom link. If that link is a video then when a user clicks on the image it will open the video in the lightbox.
July 10, 2014 at 7:36 pm #289697OK I see the custom link option now. I tried masonry before, but did not see the custom link option.
Tks a million.
July 10, 2014 at 9:10 pm #289722I setup the masonry gallery and it works fine but the video links are opening up in a new page not the lightbox butI have the lightbox option selected.
July 10, 2014 at 9:44 pm #289731Try not selecting the lightbox option so that the link gets recognized by the automatic lightbox script instead.
July 10, 2014 at 11:47 pm #289808I tried that several times already and active or not I still get a new page and not lightbox.

July 10, 2014 at 11:55 pm #289814Can we see the page live? What URL are you using? My settings which are working are:
and
Using 2.9.1 of Enfold that creates the on click get lightbox. The raw shortcode output looks like this:
[av_masonry_gallery ids='4975' items='24' paginate='pagination' size='fixed' gap='1px' overlay_fx='active' caption_elements='title' caption_display='always' container_links='active' id='']

Thank you for the update.
Please use the correct youtube video URL so instead of http://youtu.be/EZbZJEgFEDw, you have to use http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZbZJEgFEDw
You’ll get the url directly on the browser url field.
