I’ve downloaded the 2.9 version and after seeing my portfolio galleries I immediately switched back to version 2.81. The galleries behave differently and inconsistent on chrome and IE11. No border around the image, no slideshow play button. Is there a way to retain the old pretty photo gallery with the new upgrade?

Please go to Enfold theme options and uncheck “Lightbox Modal Window” if you would like to use any other modal window plugin – http://i.imgur.com/0Aqo8KX.png

First of all I’m no expert on WP at all.
A couple of questions:
– Which modal plugin is the nearest to what the gallery was like in the first place?
– Is it working with the Avia builder?
– how should I use / implement the plugin
– why the change and not a simple checkbox to use the old appearance? Or two types of galleries?I very glad with the Theme, like it a lot. But these kind of updates are giving me a lot of work, because my website (as I’m a photographer) gets a different look, especially the missing play button.

Older versions were using this lightbox – https://wordpress.org/plugins/prettyphoto/
You can simply deactivate standard one and install this one in Plugins > Add New tabThere were some issues with this lightbox and many users requested for a more modern one, that is why it was changed. Please request play button feature here or vote if already requested – https://kriesi.at/support/enfold-feature-requests/
