Hi,
How do I get image captions to show up on the lightbox gallery like you have on your demo (3rd gallery, 4th picture)? http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/shortcodes/gallery/.Thanks

Please edit your Gallery element and add captions as shown in screenshot here – http://i.imgur.com/MS8D01f.png
Cheers!

I am not creating a gallery. WordPress makes a gallery by default of all the images in a post. Then when a user clicks on pic in the post, the lightbox shows up. I want to have the captions show up under the image. I have put the text in the alt, the title, the caption and the description fields. Doesn’t show up under the image. WHich field do I need to enter the text in to get it to show under the image in the lightbox?
Thanks
July 9, 2014 at 5:19 am #288817Hi!
You’d need to convert that gallery into an Enfold gallery in order to use the captions, you can use the magic wand tool to create an Enfold gallery element in Posts:
Best regards,
JosueJuly 9, 2014 at 5:26 am #288822But I don’t want a gallery. I have pictures inserted throughout the post and wordpress makes them into a gallery when a user clicks on one of the images in the post. Usually the caption or description shows up under the image.

Thank you for the info.
Please edit the images that you have included on the gallery then add a Description. The text will show below the image when you open it on lightbox.
Cheers!
IsmaelJuly 9, 2014 at 11:55 am #288938Hello Ismael
I asked the same question: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/new-lightbox-plugin-questions/
In my test page: http://www.wp-master.org/sandbox-new-lightbox-plugin/ the second image do have a description but it do not show up.
And how do you add an image caption if you use tje Enfold element image ? There is no way to add such thing..
thank youJuly 9, 2014 at 3:25 pm #289045I have a description filled in already. For fun, I edited the description in the media library on one of the pics. Then I deleted that image from the post, and re-added it with the “new” description. Still not showing in the lightbox.
Different topic, but related – where is the setting to make the pics actual size in the lightbox? It is blowing them up WAY too big.July 9, 2014 at 4:12 pm #289073It seems as though the roll-over caption that is seen in the demo (3rd gallery, 4th picture) only works when you make the pictures into a gallery.
It would be interesting to see if Enfold can take a function to make this function also apply to images because it sure would be useful!
Otherwise we would have to look for an image plugin. Have you guys looked around for other plugins?
July 9, 2014 at 5:05 pm #289110Jquery Color Box plugin do that since a long time, but you have to deactivate the new Enfold lightbox plugin…
Jquery Color Box plugin takes the Title Tag to make a caption, why Enfold do not the same… ?July 9, 2014 at 5:18 pm #289116@absurdity69 (nice name). I have not looked for the latest and greatest. I’m hoping this can be sorted out within the theme so I don’t have to load yet another library of code into the site. And have to maintain it.
In the past I’ve used jquery colorbox (http://wordpress.org/plugins/jquery-colorbox/) but that was back in the day before this feature was built into most themes. It is highly customizable but hasn’t been updated in over a year so it’s life may be short. It might still work but there could be performance issues and who knows when it will ultimately break with some future WP update.
I hope I don’t have to go to an external plugin which is kinda why I’m being a bit of a nag about it.July 10, 2014 at 5:21 am #289315Hi again,
Is there any news on this?
Thanks!July 10, 2014 at 5:05 pm #289600Hi!
I posted a temporary fix for the new lightbox here: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/new-lightbox-plugin-questions/ – we’ll include it with the next update.
