Hello Enfold Staff,
My site is not acting responsively in all circumstances, which is, I thought, the point of a responsive format.
On Kindle, Droid, and Galaxy products the site simply shows the highlight background color for the site.
On one, the Nexus 7, it’s convoluted in how it’s being presented…parts missing, just out of wack.
Please advise as to what I might do to rectify this. Thank you.
Kind regards,
Rick
July 7, 2014 at 4:40 am #287806Forgive me for not adding this… My client’s manager called saying her FIREFOX browser using the NEXUS 7 was showing the site in a incomplete and sacked out way. Which, when I stopped by to look at her tablet in fact the site was goofed up. Type blocks missing that are there on a desktop FIREFOX browser.
I looked up the site on BROWSERSTACK (dot) com and it pointed out that Kindle, Droid, and Galaxy are not reproducing the site.
This is specific information I feel I need to add.
Thank you for looking into this.
Kind Regards,
Rick
July 7, 2014 at 4:43 am #287809Hi RickSharpell!
Thank you for using the theme.
I’m not sure how it looks on Nexus 7 but it sure is responsive on other devices. Please check here: http://quirktools.com/screenfly/#u=http%3A//www.rickrelax.com/&w=360&h=640&a=38
Regarding the first slide, I think you need to use the fullscreen slider if you want the text to be a part of the actual image. Or remove the text from the background image and place it as caption text. I’l ask the rest of the support team to check it on android device.
Cheers!
IsmaelJuly 7, 2014 at 1:25 pm #287961Hi Ismael,
I agree that the site looks responsive on other devices. The question is why on some devices does it not?
I need to address this issue of inconsistency. On a Kindle all that shows is the site’s background color (fallback color) chosen using your site development choices. It isn’t the site, though. And you can image this is disturbing for my client…and me.
Using http://www.browserstack.com/responsive and putting in my client’s site: rickrelax.com it shows inconsistency…and in the case of Kindle, Droid and Galaxy it shows just a color.
Please give further instruction on how to make the site fully responsive. And how can I help you with this?
Kind regards,
Rick
July 8, 2014 at 1:10 pm #288483Hey Rick!
I just checked your website on my iPhone 4 and it does look fine on my end – http://i.imgur.com/lTR6yuc.png?1
I unfortunately do not have a chance to check your website on an Android device using Firefox. I will ask @josue to check it. Let us wait to hear from himCheers!
YigitJuly 8, 2014 at 4:43 pm #288592Thank you Yigit for pursuing this question. I will wait with you in hopes that @josue finds something to resolve the disparity.
Kind regards,
Rick
July 8, 2014 at 5:15 pm #288606Hi!
Because Firefox mobile has such an extremely poor mobile experience and close to less than 1% user base Kriesi decided that he is not going to add support for it with Enfold at this time. As far as I know this is only the second time its come up as an issue in the past year and it was at that last time Kriesi looked in to it.
With Chrome and Safari mobile there shouldn’t be any issues however. On desktops the theme has full support for the latest Chrome, Firefox, Safari and even some Opera support. Then with IE there is some fallback for IE8 and then 9+ just about no difference from other modern browsers.
I have a GS2 that I’ve tested the theme on and have not had any issues though I don’t have a kindle to test on.
As to why the browserstack is showing kindle devices incorrectly, I don’t know. It could be in how its rendering Kindles android environment since they use Silk by default. My guess would be that if there is a specific rendering issue with Silk that Kriesi would also not add specific support for it since its market share for usage is also under 1%. I’ll tag the topic for him however since he is the ultimate decision maker for things like that :)

DevinJuly 8, 2014 at 6:13 pm #288626Thank you Devin.
I appreciate the effort you’ve made to help make sense of this anomaly…why responsive is not always responsive. Which is sorta shocking. But yes, mostly the site works well on most browsers. I guess it’s more satisfying to say it works on all browsers.
I hope Kriesi has advice and, if he can, devote a bit to this.
Kind regards,
Rick
