Trying to get the image size just right on a couple of easy sliders.

The original image size is about 3000×2000, we’d like to show most of the width of the images in the 1500 size slider image. But it seems to be zooming in and showing just a narrower and shallower section of the original images.

Tried altering the size of the image we upload but makes little or no difference.

    Many thanks

    Hi rpl_admin!

If you use this plugin it will show you all the pre-set sizes the theme will generate to use for the various theme functions: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-image-sizes/

You have the 1500×430 size showing right now in that slideshow but that can be changed with the above plugin and then the re-sized image regenerated to take the new pixel dimensions you set using the plugin.

    Regards,
    Devin

Many thanks for your reply. Not sure this plugin will resolve the issue (plus it has some pretty harsh reviews).
As I said, we really want to “zoom out” so that the people in the photographs do not appear so large (in desktop view).

Also could you please explain further “and then the re-sized image regenerated to take the new pixel dimensions you set using the plugin”

    Many thanks

    Hey!

    Thank you for the update.

You can set the thumbnail size on Slideshow Image and Video Size option. Select the “No Scaling” option if you want to use the actual image size.

    Cheers!
    Ismael
