Image sizes

Hi, I would like to upload images at the most optimal size for high quality display on Retina screens. I’m using the responsive (max width 1210 pixel) layout option, and can see the images being displayed when the browser window is at its largest size are 1030px for full width images, 783px for 2/3 width images, 593px for 1/2 width images and 291px for 1/4 width images.

Should I therefore upload all my images at 2060px width so they are 2x the size of the maximum display size, for best display on Retina displays?
