Hello!
I have an Ajax portfolio in my website: http://franchiseelites.com/our-portfolio/
but the contact form doesn’t work. It sends an automated response to the visitor but it doesn’t send email to the email design the gather information.
In need immediate help on that.
Thanks,

When I want to test the contact form for e.g. Yummy Cupcakes, it sends an email to the visitor about Win Home Inspection! and when I try to test the contact form for All American Concrete, it sends email for Wag n Wash!
Why?

I changed the email setting of one of the portfolio elements and performed a test (used avia.josue at gmail.com), the message was received as expected:
Also, i noted that in some of the portfolio items contact forms, the email setting was wrapped with span tags (http://screencast.com/t/yERmlfSxs)

It is really frustrating to work with the Ajax portfolio of Enfold. That involves a lot of copying and pasting and there is no layout builder for this. I need to add 400 companies and I realized this problem after just adding 30 and still I can’t figure out the source of problem with many of them. Do you have any suggestion for this?
Please take a look at Yummy in the 4th page. when submitting the form it sends a message that includes Wall-street Deli instead of Yummy!
Also when you submit the form it should show a message but nothing is displayed! Thanks,

Tbh if you want to add 400 different contact forms I recommend to use Formidable or Gravity Forms because these plugins save all contact forms and submission entries in a database table and you just need to embed the contact form with a shortcode.
I could reproduce the issue with Yummy and I reported it as a bug to Kriesi.
Cheers!
PeterJune 25, 2014 at 4:30 pm #283638Hey Peter!
I have the same issue that I have with Yummy with many other portfolio pages. They sand emails that includes information of other portfolio pages (Zoom, Zoup, ActiveRX, and ….). Do you mean that I need to reproduce new pages for each portfolio page with the same issue?
Regarding the Formidable or Gravity Forms, can I still have the Ajax feature?
I still don’t understand why it down’t show my message after submitting the page?

The problem is that the contact form shortcode is currently not compatible with the ajax preview feature. I reported the issue to Kriesi and we’ll see if we :
1) remove the contact form option from the shortcode generator of the ajax preview
or
2) make the ajax contact form compatible with the ajax portfolio feature. We didn’t expect that someone would try to use the contact form with the ajax preview and tbh I’m not aware of another website with a similar setup.
Regarding the Formidable or Gravity Forms, can I still have the Ajax feature?
Yes, good point – probably not. The main problem is that your solution (ajax contact form as part of ajax loaded content) requires special integration (event bindings, etc.) which is not possible without customizing the theme and plugin files. For now the only sensible solution would be to link the portfolio grid to the single portfolio entries. There you can insert the theme contact form (even with the template builder) or the Formidable or Gravity Forms. If you want to use ajax we need to wait for Kriesi’s decision whether he wants to support ajax contact forms within ajax content or not.

I’ll ask him to comment on this issue asap.
Cheers!
PeterJune 30, 2014 at 4:38 pm #285259Reminder:
Adding contact form feature to the Ajax portfolio could be a great point in differentiating Enfold from other themes. Please solve the issue as I have limited time to finish and deliver my project.
Thanks,
AmirJune 30, 2014 at 5:10 pm #285284I found something interesting!
When I set the portfolio to show all my portfolio pages (instead of showing e.g. 16 portfolio per page) the contact form works fine and sends the required message to both visitor and the site admin. Just it doesn’t show the message to the visitor on the portfolio page after submitting the form.
But when I set the portfolio to show 16 portfolio per page, only the contact forms of items in the first page work fine and the contact forms on the other pages send messages that are related to the items on the first page of the portfolio.
Guys! please do something about it!
June 30, 2014 at 8:45 pm #285377Hey Amir!
It is absolutely necessary to have the portfolio ajaxified? i think it would be way more convenient to make them open in a new page, you’d avoid this issue and you could even automate the contact form inclusion for the 400 companies (i noted that the message is the same, only the subject is changed).
Best regards,
JosueJuly 8, 2014 at 4:35 pm #288587Hey!
I will look into the issue but I am currently not really sure why this happens. As Josue said there might be better ways to accomplish this than to add a single form to each portfolio entry. The whole system is not really designed to work that way. Will do my best to fix this with one of the next releases, but to be honest: I cant guarantee that I will find an easy solution without more people reporting the error and adding additional insight…
Best regards,
Kriesi -
