Hello,
I’m using Visual Composer on my home page. But it seems to be somehow conflicting with Avia framework.
Modifications I make in text blocks in VC are never showing up. If I do these modifications (just adding text) in Avia it shows up, but then that breaks all my page because some “av-bloc” (I can’t recall the exact text, sorry) codes are added.
So I would like to know if it’s possible to switch off Avia on this page?
I tried to untick it from the top “screen options” but it has no effect, it’s still there.
Regards

No, unfortunately it’s not possible to deactivate the avia template builder on certain pages. You can completely remove/deactivate it but then you’ll also remove all template builder features.

PeterJune 18, 2014 at 12:39 pm #280503Hi,
Thank you for your answer.
Yes I was afraid it wasn’t possible to do that on one page only. But I’m planning to change the style of my other pages using VC and the plugin Ultimate VC add-on, so I could switch off all Avia framework in a few weeks.
How will I do that? Will it remove all the shortcodes? (for example, icons I added inside text blocks, which I can do without using the Avia page builder).

Thank you for using the theme!
Yes, deactivating the advance layout builder on the page will remove all the shortcodes. We haven’t tested the visual composer plugin with the Advance Layout Builder. You may experience incompatibility issues when you install the plugin. Regretfully, we don’t provide support for third party plugin such as VC. Please contact the plugin author.
Cheers!

So in case I can’t fix that issue, how would I switch off Avia layout builder? Would it be easy enough to switch it on again?

June 21, 2014 at 7:44 am #281890Hey!
After checking the theme code I noticed you can’t deactivate the builder at all. Kriesi uses some of the template builder functions (i.e. av_icon_css_string()) within the theme files and if you disable the template builder the theme breaks. Unfortunately at this point this means Enfold is not compatible with VC.
Cheers!
PeterJune 24, 2014 at 9:47 am #282887Hello,
Thank you.
I heard Avada theme will soon have own layout builder, with an option to deactivate it, in order to avoid these kind of conflicts.
Is there a chance this might happen with Enfold theme? Thanks again for your help
June 24, 2014 at 6:06 pm #283162Hey!
We’ll see – if more users request this feature we might look into it. Tbh I think Enfold doesn’t make much sense without the template builder and a simple theme framework like Genesis also does the job if you use it with VC or another page builder. On the other hand it requires quite a lot of work to strip or outsource the template builder functions from the theme templates and we could use this time to work on more popular features requests.

PeterFebruary 1, 2016 at 7:10 pm #575965I’m just experiencing the same troubles, the only solution for me would be an option to deactivate avia for editing some of the pages. The plugin “Cost Calculator” requires Visual Composer. So after spending a lot of money for plugins i’m not sure if i just should use another template. I mixed the two layout builders, and for one page it really worked. But for some other pages it’s not working. Every time i update my post now, wordpress just saves the avia layout / pagecode instat of the Visual Composer… I would be very happy if there would be a soulution…

That is still not available at all, – still. We are really sorry but here is no way to combine those at all.
