Random Portfolio Widget

I’ve looked over the support forums and found a thread to get a random order in the portfolio widget. It does work.

However, I would like to be able to have both a random order widget and a recent/date ordered widget simultaneously. I was able to create a new widget in functions.php and then make the mods to class-framework-widgets.php but I couldn’t toggle date or random and ended up with two identical but differently named widgets.

Is there a way to create an option in the existing widget to choose the orderby value and/or a way to toggle the orderby option in the class-framework-widgets.php mod.
