Hello,
When I go to my login page (http://www.jdaenglish.com/wp-admin), it redirects to an 404 not found page.
I contacted my hosting company about this and they say it’s because of the theme. Here is what the operator said in full:
This is happening in light of recent updates to WordPress and many theme compatiblity issues that arise because with the changes to how WordPress handles functions.php and the redirect from /wp-admin to /wp-login.php, some themes are triggering mod_security that block the site. You would need to contact your theme developer for assistance in resolving this in light of the new WordPress updates; however, it should reset in about 20 minutes to 1 hour time and you should then be able to log in, without the 404 error
I disabled my plugins and I’m still getting the error. Could you look into this for me?
Thanks in advance for your response.
Jack.
P.S. I’ll update this thread if I can log in within the next hour or two.
It has just started working again (after not working for an hour or so, and for 20 minutes earlier). But, I would still love a response to this.
Thanks again,
Jack.
Hi Jack,
It’s easy to blame the theme but the only way to discard is to check if it does happen with the default WordPress theme activate.
Cheers!
Josue
So, are you saying it’s not an issue with the theme?
Hey!
It is unlikely, try enabling the default WP theme to discard.
Best regards,
Josue
