Hallo Peter,
ich habe seit einigen Tagen erhebliche Probleme mit dem Layerslider auf meiner Homepage, denn ich kann auf einmal keine Slides mehr bearbeiten oder neue hinzufügen.
Ich habe in der letzten Woche 2 neue Slides in meinen Slider (vorher 8, danach 10 Slides) eingefügt, habe diesen abgespeichert, und die Änderungen werden auch korrekt angezeigt.
Doch wenn ich den Slider zum Bearbeiten öffne, dann kann ich keine einzelnen Slides mehr auswählen, editieren oder neue hinzufügen.
Ich habe den Slider exportiert (funktioniert) und als neuen Slider re-importiert – auch diesen kann ich nicht bearbeiten.
Ich habe den Slider dupliziert (funktioniert) – auch das Duplikat lässt sich nicht bearbeiten.
Dann habe einen neuen Testslider (mit 3 Slides) angelegt (funktioniert), neue Slides eingefügt (fünktioniert), dieser lässt sich ohne weiteres bearbeiten. Das Problem muss also an meinem spezifischen Slider liegen.
Ich bin dann davon ausgegangen dass vielleicht irgendein Datenbank-Fehler passiert ist oder dass in irgendeinem Slide ein fehlerhafter Parameter existiert, daraufhin habe ich mich entschlossen den Slider noch einmal komplett neu aufzubauen und alle Slides neu einzurichten.
Ich habe daraufhin den alten Slider entfernt, einen neuen eröffnet und die Inhalte neu eingepflegt. Nach jedem neuen Slide habe ich den Slider abgespeichert und wieder neu geöffnet, das ging auch bis zum 8. Slide gut. Die letzten beiden Slides (9 und 10) habe ich in einem Zug erledigt und dann abgespeichert. Als ich danach den Slider wieder öffnen wollte hatte ich den selben Salat wie mit meinem Ursprungs-Slider – ich kann ihn nicht mehr bearbeiten. Es wird stets nur der Anfangs-Slide angezeigt, wenn man auf einen anderen Slide klickt passiert nichts. Auch die einzelnen Layer im Anfangs-Slide lassen sich nicht mehr anklicken und öffnen.
Es könnte irgendeine Art von Speicherüberlauf sein, ich habe auch schon versucht alle Plugins zu deaktivieren – doch das bringt keine Änderung.
Ich hoffe ihr könnt mir weiterhelfen.
Meine Konfiguration: WordPress 3.9, Enfold 2.7, Layerslider 5.1.1

ich würde darauf tippen das du nicht genügend speicher reserviert hast.

Danke für den schnellen Tip, leider löst das mein Problem nicht.
Ich habe den Speicher sowohl in der wp-config wie auch in der php.ini auf 128M heraufgesetzt (war vorher 100M), und habe das mit dem Plugin “Server IP & Memory Usage Display” überprüft – das bestätigt mir dass jetzt 128M zur Verfügung stehen und gibt den Verbrauch des Speichers mit 40,39 MB bzw. 32% an. Dennoch kann ich den Slider weiterhin nicht bearbeiten. Please Help!
Ich weißt nicht was der layer slider so an speicher braucht, hab selbst noch nicht so große slider gebaut.
Könntest dem support einen temporären account erstellen damit die sich das anschauen können.
Nur wichtig das du die Antwort als “private reply” setzt.Und mit englisch erreichst du mehr leute vom support. Auch wenn ein paar deutsche dabei sind ;)

I tested one of the slider called “test” and I was able to edit it without any issues. I even created a new slider called “Test 2”.

thanks for the reply.Creating new sliders and editing them is no problem, as I wrote before (see test slider).
The described problem only occurs with the following sliders:Frontpage-Slider (id=10) – Original
Frontpage-Slider copy (id=11) – Created by duplicating the Frontpage-Slider (id=10)
Frontpage-Slider (id=12) – Created by exporting Frontpage-Slider (id=10) and reimportingI cannot edit any of these 3 sliders.
When I open one of these sliders in the layerslider editor the following happens:
The slider opens correctly in the editor window and the first slide is shown.But:
The preview button doesn’t work anymore – the animation doesn’t start and the editor display always returns after a while to the first static slide.
When I click on any of the other slide buttons (2-10) nothing happens – the editor shows again the first static slide, I cannot choose any other one for editing.
When I click on “Add new slide” nothing happens – the editor still shows the first static slide.
On the first slide – when I click on any of the layers the respective layer doesn’t open for editing, I cannot change any parameters.So I am not able to edit individual slides and add new ones.
Duplicating the whole slider works. Exporting the whole slider and reimporting works. But the duplicate slider and the reimportet slider also cannot be edited. Strange – I detected that it makes no difference between exporting with images and exporting without images – the filesize is always 186kb.

For experiments you can use the sliders with id=11 or id=12.

We’re very sorry for the delay.
I can see the issue now. Is it ok if we deactivate the plugins while debugging the issue? We might need to disable the Advanced TinyMCE and other plugins in order to find the problem. We don’t want to mess with your settings so we’re asking permission to do this.

Please try to increase the php execution time. I noticed that the page generation stops at some point and the entire footer area (including the scripts which are normally loaded at the bottom of the html document) are missing. I think it might be a problem of the php execution time because the page stops to load after 30 seconds. Try to increase the time to 60 seconds or 90 seconds and see if this solves the issue. If not I’ll ask Kriesi to contact the LayerSlider plugin author – maybe he can give us some useful hints. If you can’t increase the execution time but you need a quick solution I recommend to use another, alternative slider like Master Slider or Revolution Slider. Thinking over the actual problem with my LayerSlider, maybe there’s another solution:
Since the problem 2 times arised after I added the slides 9 and 10 to my slideshow – would it be possible for you to delete slide9 and slide10 from the database? In one of the sliders with id=11 or id=12 ? And then try if the respective layerslider can be edited?
This would not solve the original problem, but at least it maybe would allow to regain access to the slides 1-8 (the slides 10 and 11 are not very important).

Yes, deleting the slides should be possible. You can find the slider data in the wp_layerslider table. It’s json encoded but you can use a tool like: http://json.parser.online.fr/ to parse the data. All layers are part of the “layers” array and start with “properties”. Each layer may contain several “sublayers” arrays.

PeterProblem with LayerSlider fixed! Last night we installed the entire Enfold-Wordpress-Site on another server(different provider). On the other server the LayerSlider editor worked flawlessly, all sliders were editable. My server was configured with php 5-53stable, the other server with php 5-54stable. After switching my server from 5-53 to 5-54 all errors are gone, and I’m glad for regaining control over my sliders.
