We found some issues in our implementation of Enfold as a one-page with color sections.
Appreciate some advice on how to correct these issues:

    1. Desktop menu: current-menu-item is displayed wrong! The previous menu item is highlighted not the item selected.

    2. Links to sections display halfway between previous section and where it should navigate to. Should land at top of #section.

    3. Click on a page number in the blog section reloads the whole page and not just the section. It should land at the top of the blog section.

    4. Fixed background image in color section positioned bottom right not responsive.

    5. Where is search bar in responsive menu?

    Hey!

1, 3. Can you create a temporary administrator account to check it?

    2. Didn’t note this, i always landed on top of the sections.

    4. Parallaxed sections were disabled for mobiles in the last update (compatibility issues).

    5. Is hidden by default. it’s possible to bring it back though.

    Regards,
    Josue

    2. On what devices? We see this on Android and iPhone. This even happens in the Chrome Emulator.
    4. It’s not set for Parallax, it’s set as fixed.

Re: 5. Seems to me this should be a theme option, not something we should have to modify theme code to implement!

And I don’t even have the header.php code that [closed] thread recommends changing!!!

    Please help.

RE: #2. I noticed the same behavior in a site that was approved and launched in March! Someone would have noticed it during testing.

Could it be caused by some change in a recent theme update?

Were you able to login to the temporary user account?

    Need help with:
    1. Desktop menu: current-menu-item is displayed wrong! The previous menu item is highlighted not the item selected.
    2. Links to sections on mobile display between previous section and where it should navigate to. Should land at top of #section ID.
    3. Click on a a blog section page number (.pagination) the whole page reloads, not just the section. It should land at the top of the blog section.
    4. Fixed background image in color section positioned bottom right not responsive.
    5. Need the search bar in responsive menu. My version does not have the code in the header.php that the thread references.

    PLEASE HELP!

    Hey!

Have you checked if the menu issue happens with the parent theme activated?

    Cheers!

Josue, thanks for the reply, I am not sure what you are asking?

Just wanted to discard if the issue is caused by some code in your child theme, i’ve never seen this kind of problem (the menu one).

    Regards,
    Josue

Guys, I have a similar issue. Current-menu-item is not displaying correctly. When i click the parent “Company” the current-menu-item displays correctly. But when I hover and select a child it doesn’t display correctly.

The same is true for “Services”

    Any suggestions are appreciated

Josue, I’ve checked the child code and the mountains of Enfold code re these issues. If I could find it there, I would not be requesting help here.

Did you ever sign in? What about all these issues?

I need to resolve these issues immediately and launch. Please give me concrete advice for each issue.

Thank you for a great theme.

It does seem like every update breaks something that was working before. And it’s so hard to nail down the cause because there are so many css, php and js files! Please help.

I know you have many users awaiting support but please take a few moments and read through this thread again and help me find solutions—so I won’t have to keep posting here.

    Hey!

Yes, i was able to login.

Fixed the blog navigation issue and added the search form to the mobile menu:

    Best regards,
    Josue

    Josue! Wow.
Please tell me what you did!
    including class names for styling?
Will it remain through theme updates?

Now we can focus on these critical issues:
    1. Desktop menu: current-menu-item is displayed wrong! The previous menu item is highlighted not the item selected.
    2. Links to #sections, on mobile, display halfway between previous section and where it should navigate to. Should land at top of #section as if section top=0;

    Thank you.

    Hey!

I edited header.php (for the search) and js/avia.js (to modify the blog pagination links), but on the parent theme, we will need to fix that later (duplicate parent header.php and js/avia.js to the child folder).

I’m still checking the other issues.

    Regards,
    Josue

    #265379

I need all modified code in the child theme not the parent. Please give me the specific code you changed and I will update my child theme.

    #265382

    In the parent theme:

    header.php, line 66
    js/avia.js, line 1574-1579

    In the child theme:

    style.css, 190-199

    #265397

    Thanks, Josue.

When I download the files, the line numbers have changed.
Be best in future, if we not change the parent theme. Either give me the code and where to put it or modify the child only.
How is it going on the other critical issues?

    #265424

I moved all the changed code to the child theme but I must have broken something. Now the stylesheets are not loading! Please help!

Removed the child header.php and styles now load. How do I implement the search form code in the child header.php properly?

Updated the child header.php including your new code but the search is not loading now.

Perhaps I owe you an apology. I should’ve waited for you to complete your efforts before moving the code to the child theme (but I did “duplicate parent header.php and js/avia.js to the child folder”).
I appreciate your help. I won’t interfere again.

    So now the issues are:
    1. Desktop menu: current-menu-item is displayed wrong! The previous menu item is highlighted not the item selected. (If you notice this is not occurring in now launched site http://milestonementoring.com which uses a similar 1 page setup and child theme.)
    2. Links to sections on mobile display between previous section and where it should navigate to. Should land at top of #section ID. (This issue is occurring in http://milestonementoring.com which uses a similar 1 page setup and child theme.)
    3. Restore the search bar in responsive menu.

These issues are critical, I appreciate your help to promptly resolve these issues.

Hi I rebuilt the page hoping it resolved these issues but it is exhibiting the same bugs!
    http://milestonementoring.com/murphypsychologygroup/test/

I was due to launch 10 days ago and will appreciate your prompt attention to resolve these issues. (I understand you have many requests for support but please let’s just get this one taken care of so that I don’t have to keep coming back!)

Told to reply to previous posts to avoid going to end of queue…
    Thanks, Josue.

    2. While it does land on the new blog page, it does seem like it the whole page is reloading rather than just the blog section. Shouldn’t it be more Ajax-like?
    3. Scroll issue still landing in previous section—even after clearing cache?
    Thanks for using the child.

Kriesi said to edit previous posts rather than add new ones but no one is replying to these updates!
What’s the status? What can I tell the client who was due to launch 2 weeks ago?

    #266923

    Hi,

    Sorry for the delay:

    1. Added the searchform to the header (child theme header.php).
    2. Improved the fix for blog navigation (child theme functions.php).
    3. Fixed the scroll issue on mobiles, they now land of top (parent theme js/avia.js, i’ll propose this fix and it will probably be included in the next update).

So, for now most of the fixes/additions are on the child theme :)

    P. S. I’m still looking a solution for current-menu-item bug, please be patient.

    Regards,
    Josue

    #270304

Okay, Josue. Thanks for all your help.

    Issues remaining:
#4. Fixed background image in color section #contact positioned bottom right is not responsive.
It’s not parallax, it’s fixed, bottom right. It looks like theme is resizing the image. It should fit the width:
    I tried adding: #contact { background-size: 320px auto;} to my child theme but doesn’t appear to work.

Viewing on a Windows Samsung S Neo, header/logo is not responsive.

I’m seeing a lot of code underneath my “edit page” Is that something you added to debug?

Will everything remain with future updates? Also, I need to know what code you changed on the Murphy site, so that I can apply some of these to the Milestone site.

    Thanks again. Almost there!

    #271255

    Hi!

I’m not sure what other fixes Josue is looking to do but the parallax effect is disabled on mobile as it was and is still causing massive issues on iOS devices because of a bug/rendering with the way it handles the code.

If the logo/header for mobile is correct as it is not stickied on mobile devices regardless of your settings. See the notations in the Header Layout>Header behavior tab.

Everything done to your child theme will stay intact while being updated.

    Cheers!
    Devin

    #271275

    Hi Devin,

Thanks for jumping in. Is Josue unavailable?

It’s not Parallax! It’s fixed. The issue #4 is that the theme seems to enlarge the image on mobile phones, it should remain at its original size.

I have no idea what you are referring to re: Header. The bug I saw was on a Windows phone, the logo was not responsive.

    #271396

    Hi again!

Can you post a screenshot of your view on mobile?

    Regards,
    Josue

    #271524
    #271525

    What browser/device is that?

    Best regards,
    Josue

    #271534

I think that’s happening because you have this rule inside a mobile media query:

    #contact {
    	background-size: 320px auto;
    }

    Best regards,
    Josue
