I am using the latest version of WordPress and the latest version of Enfold theme. I have deleted and reinstalled from scratch several times and continue to get the same error.
Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: open(/var/chroot/home/content/61/8377861/tmp/sess_pr028k1fv4ug118u4hullql9p5, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in /home/content/61/8377861/html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/portfolio.php on line 27

There were closed topics with similar issues and it was advised to contact my hoster to check the server configuration (session data folder is writable & exists, etc.). I contacted my domain host which is godaddy and they ran some tests and said its something on my end with compatibility issues…
What should I do??
June 25, 2013 at 5:35 am #126506It seems like the session folder doesn’t exist (/var/chroot/home/content/61/8377861/tmp/) which is required to store the session data or the server can’t create the session file because of permission issues, etc. – http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3262727/warning-session-start-failed-no-such-file-or-directory
You can try to deactivate all third party plugins to eliminate the risk of a “compatibility issue”. If this doesn’t help I’d switch to another hoster if GoDaddy doesn’t want to help you.
August 16, 2013 at 5:35 pm #126507I am running into the same thing. I was told that I need to switch to a windows hosting package with go daddy to correct the issue. I have tried switching yet. Have you had any luck with this issue?
August 16, 2013 at 6:36 pm #126508Hi stwallis001,
There should be no reason you have to switch to a windows hosting package. In fact it would just cause you issues since most people want pretty permalinks and windows has a ridiculous amount of issues getting that to work.
You may just need to use a higher tier hosting package but I don’t know much of the details of GoDaddy hosting as I don’t use them for hosting.

Devin
August 16, 2013 at 7:27 pm #126509Hello Devin,
I agree about the windows hosting switch. After speaking to another support rep at GoDaddy they agree as well.
We are using the best hosting package that they have so I am really stuck here….. At this point I don’t know what else to do. I don’t want to switch to a different host being that we have over 30 domains hosted with go daddy and the package is paid for… But they have no direction for me at this point….
August 16, 2013 at 10:13 pm #126510Solution:
Remove line 227 from the PHP.ini file.
Works like a charm.
