If I use the advanced editor and then switch over to the default editor, everything gets deleted that I put in the advanced editor. For example, I would like to put a gallery on my page. I set it up with the advanced editor, then switch to the default editor to add code because your theme doesn’t allow for audio clips. When I do that, the gallery is gone.
What’s more, if I start in the default editor, it never seems to recognize any shortcodes I put in. Nothing happens. They just appear as text on screen.
I have also noticed that “preview changes” doesn’t always work anymore. Sometimes the preview window is just empty.
I really can’t seem to get anything at all accomplished. It seems like it was better before this last upgrade. Is this theme broken now?
Hi ckosheff!
The regular visual editor and the advanced layout editor are two separate entities and can not work together or at the same time. So its an either or situation.
When you are using the regular visual editor shortcodes are just shortcodes like any other theme. When using the ALB they show up as a layout.

Devin
Why is it when I don’t use advanced layout, and I put [layerslider id=”3″] on its own line in the default editor it shows up as text on screen? The “insert slider into page” button gives me that. But the shortcode never works!!!
Wow. I am now realizing how limiting this is.
The built in LayerSlider’s shortcodes are disabled unfortunately.
