Theme update not working. I get the following message:

Unpacking the update…

Installing the latest version…

Removing the old version of the theme…

Could not remove the old theme.

Theme update failed.

I finally was able to get the Enfold theme to update. It was a WP Engine server issue and all I had to do was reset file permissions and then update Enfold.

WordPress Admin: WP Engine
General Settings tab
>>> Reset File Permissions

Hi Jagrav!

It sounds like the folder wasn’t writable or WordPress didn’t have the correct permissions. For a quick guide on updating your theme over FTP instead take a look at this video: https://vimeo.com/channels/aviathemes/67209750

The other option would be talking to your hosting provider to make sure WordPress has the correct write permssions on the themes folder.

I reset permissions and I could then update the theme.

My server, WP Engine, actually has a button that will do it for you automatically.
