Help, I’m perfectly perplexed! Even though I am experienced at WP on other sites and have been able to manually use ftp to upload other themes this website in my troubleshooting, I always get the following message below when I upload Enfold in my Manage Themes page. I have read all of your instructions on the support page, watched the video, double checked to make sure I was only using the folder with the style.css to upload, but to no avail. I have downloaded the folder twice from themeforest, but nothing makes a difference. The wp upload method does not work either, so that is not an option either. What do you recommend?
Broken Themes
The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.
Name Description
__MACOSX Stylesheet is missing.
May 15, 2013 at 10:41 pm #119425Hi,
Please check the size of the folder you are trying to upload. Is it 15.4 MB in size? Sometimes they upload the whole downloaded file straight from themeforest.
Regards,
Ismael
May 15, 2013 at 11:59 pm #119426It is actually 18 mb in size, the larger folder I downloaded is 40.6 mb, so I am using the smaller folder of the two.
Also, I had the permissions set in my rackspace account so that should not be an issue.
Here are the contents of the folder that I am trying to upload fyi:
404.php
archive.php
author.php
config-bbpress
config-gravityforms
config-layerslider
config-templatebuilder
config-woocommerce
config-wpml
css
footer.php
forum.php
framework
functions-enfold.php
functions.php
header.php
images
includes
index.php
js
lang
page.php

search.php
searchform.php
sidebar.php
single-portfolio.php
single.php
style.css
taxonomy-portfolio_entries.php
template-archives.php

May 16, 2013 at 6:51 am #119427Hi!
Please use ftp and connect to your server. Then navigate to wp-content/themes and delete the __MACOSX folder. More about the MacOSX folder. http://superuser.com/questions/104500/what-is-macosx-folder
Best regards,
Peter
May 16, 2013 at 7:35 am #119428I don’t have a __MACOSX folder in my themes and can’t see it in the subdirectories either.
May 16, 2013 at 4:51 pm #119429I’m working on a mac computer and I don’t see the __MACOSX folder, however when I download the theme to a pc, I can see it in the main folder but it is not in the folder I am uploading. However, I do not see it anywhere in ftp in my themes folder. Is this something you could take a look at?
May 16, 2013 at 7:02 pm #119430Maybe your server hides this folder too (probably you’re using a linux server). I’m not sure how you can delete it in this case – maybe try to contact your hoster and ask them to delete the folder for you.
May 16, 2013 at 9:32 pm #119431That did the trick. I think it may be that because I am on a mac I can’t see it, but because my computer guy is on a PC, he could see it and was able to delete it. Weird!
