    Hi,

    the paths/URLs of my portfolio items are wrong:

    The path/URL as the breadcrumbs is showing, is the right one!
    But at the browser’s address line, the path is wrong.

    My permalink settings for the portfolio items:

    The permalink settings of my normal posts is set to “month-name”.

    See screenshot of the wrong paths here:

    I don’t know where this is coming from. Any idea?
    (My site is in maintenance mode)

    Hey COLORIT!

    The url path looks correct for how they should be output based on your permalink setting. Its werke followed by the name.

    Ex: http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/portfolio-item/single-portfolio-23-gallery-3/ which is portfolio-item followed by the name.

    Hm, I think the URL at the browser’s adress line should be like the breadcrumbs, so the URL for this special portfolio-item should be:

    meineseite.de/farbkunst/portfolio-uebersicht/magicmoment

    but currently it is:

    meineseite.de/werke/magicmoment

    and this is just not right.

    I have tried to add this to my functions.php as Dude suggested here, but it has no effect:
    https://kriesi.at/support/topic/breadcrumbs-with-portfolio/

    It’s really confusing … but the breadcrumbs above in the screenshot show the right hierarchy.

    EDIT:

    I found the same behaviour at the ENFOLD demo theme:

    main URL/starting page:
    http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/

    “Portfolio 3 column” link:
    http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/portfolio/portfolio-3-column/

    Then, at this page, I click at the first portfolio item, which is:
    http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/portfolio-item/single-portfolio-23-slider-3/

    Also here is a part of path missing, i.e. “/portfolio/”

    That is a sub page not part of the portfolio item taxonomy or permalink structure.

    So in the WordPress pages meta box on the right hand side of the page editor the “portfolio” page has multiple child pages that show the various portfolio styles.

    That is how you get the permalink structure to a group of items. Once you are on a single portfolio item its outside the page taxonomy/hierarchy and the permalink is directly to that specific portfolio item.

    ok, thanks for the explanation, Devin. So is it right, that this URL behaviour is “normal”:

    meineseite.de/werke/magicmoment?

    “werke” is the portfolio slug, “magicmoment” is a single portfolio item.

    instead of what it should be:
    meineseite.de/farbkunst/portfolio-uebersicht/magicmoment

    If there is no other solution, I can live with it ;-)
