Hi Guys – I cant seem to work out from either the docs or forums how to setup a “masonry shop” as you have shown here:
http://kriesi.at/themedemo/?theme=enfold
(the default shop is working fine with woo commerce)
February 3, 2014 at 5:14 am #218603Hey aabele!
Don’t set the page as Shop Base Page on Woocommerce > Settings > Pages > Shop Base Page. Please note: The Masonry Shop is not suited for a shop with hundreds of products (in that case use the default shop) but if you only sell a handful of item and want to display them in a stylish way this might be the way to do it. The Masonry Shop has also some limitations that the “default shop” doesn’t have. It can’t be selected as default shop or shop archive. It is meant to be an extra element on your Frontpage not to display a full fledged shop. Thats what the default shop is for ;)
Cheers!
IsmaelFebruary 4, 2014 at 8:32 pm #219617Hi There,
I too am trying to use this layout. I had the base shop page set at first. Then un-set it as you described above. but is is still showing the old base shop page. What am I missing?
February 5, 2014 at 7:34 am #219795Hi!
You would set up the masonry shop on a new page using the Masonry element set to display products. After you’ve added the Fullwidth Masonry element to your page using the avia layout builder select Product type or Product cat to be displayed and then select all or just the ones you to show.

DevinFebruary 5, 2014 at 8:03 am #219808Hi!
Did you add the fullwidth masonry element on the Shop page? Edit the element then set the “Which Entries?” option to “Product Cat” or “Product Type” to show product entries.

IsmaelFebruary 5, 2014 at 8:13 am #219814Yep added to the “Shop” page but there is no such element

Here you can select how the masonry should behave and handle the imagesFlexible Masonry: All images get the same width but are displayed with their original height and width ratio
Perfect Grid: Display a perfect grid where each image has exactly the same size. Images get cropped/stretched if they don’t fit
Perfect Automatic Masonry: Display a grid where most images get the same size, only very wide images get twice the width and very high images get twice the height. To qualify for “very wide” or “very high” the image must have a aspect ratio of 16:9 or higher

Do you want to display the image overlay effect that gets removed on mouseover?Image Title and Caption
You can choose if you want to display title and/or captionElement Title and Caption
You can choose whether to always display Title and Caption or only on hoverImage Link
By default images link to a larger image version in a lightbox. You can deactivate that link. You can also set custom links when editing the images in the galleryFor Developers: Section ID
Apply a custom ID Attribute to the section, so you can apply a unique style via CSS. This option is also helpful if you want to use anchor links to scroll to a sections when a link is clickedUse with caution and make sure to only use allowed characters. No special characters can be used.
February 5, 2014 at 9:26 pm #220098Can we see the page you have now live?
Make sure that you read the content above the demo masonry shop which explains the the masonry shop can *not* be used for the default WooCommerce shop page.
So if you are trying to have it show on the page which you’ve designated through the WooCommerce options as the main shop page it will not work.
February 6, 2014 at 8:03 am #220364Hi Devin,
Thanks
Yep I made sure – created a completely random page and added a Fullwidth Masonry Gallery.
The Woo Commerce “Shop Base Page” is set to something else completely.
.. yet I still dont have the option to nominate my Fullwidth Masonry Gallery to handle products
.. do I need to update to a new version??
February 7, 2014 at 10:45 am #220838Hi!
You must use the “Fullwidth Masonry” element (can be found in the “Content Elements” tab). The masonry gallery can’t display products (or any other post type like portfolio entries) but you can use it for images.

PeterFebruary 13, 2014 at 11:36 pm #223698Hi Peter,
Ok so the ‘Fullwidth Masonary” element can’t display products ..
How was this created: http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/shop/masonry-shop/
February 14, 2014 at 1:07 am #223717There are 2 different masonry elements in the Avia Layout Builder:
– Fullwidth Masonry in the Content Elements tab which can output posts based on any taxonomy
– Fullwidth Masonry Gallery in the Media elements tab which is only for imagesYou *can’t* use the Fullwidth Masonry Gallery for the shop. You must use the Fullwidth Masonry element instead.
February 14, 2014 at 7:32 am #223816Hi Devin – thanks mate – now we are getting somewhere :)
Only issue is that the category options are for POST categories only and not WOO COMMERCE PRODUCT categories .. how do I get product categories to show?
February 16, 2014 at 5:46 am #224481The dropdown should show Product Type, Product Cat and Product Tag for options as long as you have WooCommerce installed with tags and categories set.
February 16, 2014 at 1:05 pm #224519Hi Devin – ah my stupid mistake – I didn’t notice the drop down options – thanks mate all sorted :)
One other thing – is there a way to control how many products are shown per row??
February 16, 2014 at 9:27 pm #224599Hi!
You can set that in the “Post Number” option.

JosueFebruary 25, 2014 at 4:50 am #228825Hi Josue,
Sure – that determines the number of posts on a page but how do you determine how many products are shown per ROW
Thanks in advance mate – you guys have been a great help :)
February 26, 2014 at 10:42 am #229501Hi!
You can’t set the number of products per row. You can only set the total number of products per page and depending on the screen size the masonry script will build a grid with X columns and then it will fill these columns with products. Depending on the total number of products and the number of columns a row may contain more or less product items.
Best regards,
Peter -
