    I want to change the boxed layout color on the sides. I want the main content to be in white, but i would like the sides to be a slightly dark grey to offset the white instead of having it be black. I have tried editing it in just enfold->styling->general->body background color and it’s not working at all.

    never mind, just ended up creating a background image with the color i wanted and added it that way.
