Hello
I have recently updated Enfold to the latest version, and am running it with the latest (wp 3.8). I have installed the Print Friendly and PDF plugin, which works just fine on a full width page but for my portfolio pages it is pushing my right sidebar below the icon. I saw the other post about fixing it for the top of the page but I think that this needs to be different? Here is a test page that shows what’s happening (right sidebar content is now below everything, even though the space for the sidebar is still there):

Thanks! Jodi
December 20, 2013 at 2:03 am #202351Hey webWahine!
The [printfriendly] shortcode is not working on the the page you provided. Did you try to use a Text Block element? Insert the shortcode on the Visual mode editor. I tested this on a portfolio item using the Default and Advance Layout Builder. The button renders properly.

IsmaelDecember 20, 2013 at 2:14 am #202355Sorry but I did place the shortcode in a text block element in the advanced editor. I have just refreshed and it’s still pushing the sidebar down on all site pages with a sidebar. Please have another look, and thank you for your help :)
December 20, 2013 at 4:40 am #202421Hi!
This is what I get when I add the shortcode on a Text Block.
Please check the page, maybe there are unclosed div tags within the editor. Deactivate all plugins except for the print friendly plugin. Check it on another browser.

IsmaelDecember 20, 2013 at 9:03 pm #202700Ok, so I’ve tried it on Safari, Chrome & Firefox – the same thing is happening. I also deactivated all the plugins and no change. When I go into a portfolio item they are all using the advanced editor so I can’t see any code in the default editor, however, I did look at all the text in each text block and there are no unclosed divs, etc.
So, I did the same as you and added just the [printfriendly] shortcode into a text block on a new test page and it’s fine:
http://v2.equitablerealestate.ca/buildings/print-test/
But as soon as there is more content it breaks:
http://v2.equitablerealestate.ca/buildings/tester/
Perhaps do the same and see if it breaks for you as well? It’s a conundrum! Thanks for your ongoing support :)
December 23, 2013 at 12:34 pm #203248Hey!
The plugin seems to manipulate the html structure of the website and this breaks the theme. Normally it should look like
.container
– .template-page.content
– .sidebarbut with the print plugin it looks like
.container
– .template-page.content
.sidebarand this structure pushes the sidebar container underneath the main content container. Please contact the plugin author and ask him how to deactivate the html code manipulation because this is not easily fixable with css. Alternatively I recommend to use another plugin.
Best regards,
PeterJanuary 4, 2014 at 1:02 am #205213I did get a reply from PrintFriendly – they wanted to see the page with the problem (not noticing that it was in my link to this post), however, the initial comment was:
The plugin does not modify the html structure when adding the button, but happy to take a look and confirm.
I would be just as happy to use another plugin but WP-Print does not work at all with Enfold – gives an error, and Clean Print costs $. Is there one that you have found is stable with Enfold?
