    Hi!
I´m about to update the theme because I recently updated the wordpress-installation and after that the layerslider does not work…
Now…there just has to be an easier way to update the theme than to use FTP, making tons of backups, database-changes and loads of other stuff.
I´ve browsed this forum for a long time now and I cant find any helpful threads about how to do this. It just can´t be that you have to be a full-blown- code-expert every time you´re forced to update…?

    Hey subevent,

on first, witch version of enfold you are using right now?

since the version, i think it starts on 2.2.0 you can make the themeupdate only by klick a button in the themeoptions.

but make shure, that you create always a childtheme of your enfoldtheme before, where you make your customsettings on your template.

you want make a transfer from your localsite to your publicsite, you can use for example the plugin “dublicator”, also it works in the other dircetion.

    these are simple updateways…

    nice weekend

    Right…!
So I havent create any child-themes at all, and when I read about this it seems a bit tricky…
    I now have version 1.9.1…

    use that video http://vimeo.com/67221517
    also the downloadlink to enfoldchildtheme

you only must use a childtheme, when you mak some customsettings in your css, when you only use the originaltheme you don`t need the childtheme not really, but shure is shure.

are you using a localinstallation or just a publicsite with your wordpress and enfold?

    Hi ahagin!
the only customization Ive done is inserting my own logo and of course fiddling with the imported dummy content.
    No coding…

    Hi!

In that case you will not lose anything. Those changes are stored in your database. Please check the other topic, i posted a video tutorial that Devin has prepared.
