    I have tried everything I’ve read (.htaccess files change, permalink changes, deactivating plugins) but I still cannot set a new Home Page. I simply get a 404 error. The page will show, if I put the whole URL in, but, although it remains selected in Settings>Reading, it will not show up

    Is there something you can point me at to resolve this as I am at my wits’ end.

    For the Enfold theme you can set a front page at,

    Appearance/Themes/Customize/Static Front Page

    I don’t know if this is your solution, but it’s how i set my front page (i’m a new user also)

    Hey!

    Set all the WordPress settings for your home page to “Your latest Posts”.

    Then from the Enfold options set your homepage using the dropdown in the initial main theme options page.
