I have set up a forum on my website, but I do not see an option for someone new to the forum to register. I believe the default setting is that people have to be registered users in order to post. Where is the registration option?
Thank you!!
September 28, 2013 at 2:55 am #167406Hey uattah!
You can create a page then insert the bbpress registration shortcode: [bbp-register]
You can also go to Appearance > Widgets. Insert the (bbbPress) Login Widget. Place the url of the newly created “Register” page on the “Register URI:” field. Please refer to this link: http://codex.bbpress.org/shortcodes/
Cheers!

Can you give us a link to your website with the registration page? Check if the settings on Settings > General > Membership is enabled.

register linkSeptember 28, 2013 at 4:23 pm #167578I have created a registration page and added the URL to it in my login widget. The registration form shows up fine, but when I proceed to the registration page, I receive an error that says registration not allowed. Any thoughts?
Thank you.September 29, 2013 at 4:42 pm #167840Hey!

IsmaelSeptember 29, 2013 at 4:52 pm #167842Hi Ismael! I am running into a few issues.
‘Anyone can register’ is now enabled. Thank you for that tip.
Now when I attempt to register, there is only a field for ‘user name’ and ’email’.
A registration confirmation email is sent to the new user, but there is no password, so they cannot log in.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
September 29, 2013 at 4:55 pm #167843If I try to reset password, once I’ve entered my username or email address, it says that the incorrect captcha was entered. However, there is no captcha on the lost password form. Do I have to add this manually? I merely used the shortcode for each one of these pages to create them.
September 29, 2013 at 5:06 pm #167850Sorry to keep bothering you. It looks like I’ve been able to get the automatic email with the password to appear. Is there any way that after someone registers to be a part of my forum, that they be redirected to the forum sign-in page?
It seems that when someone registers for the forum, this is the same user name and password that they use to shop- is this correct?
Thank you so much for your responses. They are much appreciated.

They use this plugin to redirect you from page to page. http://wordpress.org/plugins/quick-pagepost-redirect-plugin/

IsmaelSeptember 30, 2013 at 5:14 am #167990Hi Ismael,
I actually also found a plug in where you can simply change the wordpress logo to your own on the login page once a user has signed up for your forum. It was super easy to use. :)
http://wordpress.org/plugins/my-wp-login-logo/
I disabled the captcha on the reset password page, and it now works fine. I just wish I was able to figure out how to make it appear, but it’s functional which is all I need.
Thank you again for all of your help. I’ll definitely play around with the redirect plugin and see how that works for me.
