Hi,
I had a pair of shortcodes [upme_private][/upme_private] that were running fine previously with the theme. However, after I made little change to the page that uses the shortcode moments ago, the shortcodes are not working anymore, they got stripped by the visual editor.
Last time I had it worked was when I had theme in version 2.1.
The shortcode is from plugin UPME which can be found at http://codecanyon.net/item/user-profiles-made-easy-wordpress-plugin/4109874.
and you can check the page that has this pair of shortcodes running at http://acutta.com/app1/?page_id=2315.
Thank you,

Have you tried to insert it again using the Visual Editor of the page?

September 30, 2013 at 1:40 am #167915Hello!
What may be happening is the shortcodes for that plugin are set in a way where WordPress doesn’t recognize it as regular text content and sees it as code. I really have no idea why some shortcodes do this and others don’t but its just something I’ve noticed from time to time on client sites using various plugins.
If this is the case what you will probably need to do is edit those text blocks using only the text tab. Save while on the text tab, edit using it and generally not switching back to the visual editor tab since WordPress will then strip it.
Best regards,

It’s not convenient but every time I need to make any changes to the page, I have to save everything first, then strip the [av_textblock] and save again.
This is the workaround I use to make it work. :(
Thanks,
October 2, 2013 at 7:22 am #169156btw, could you please help take a look at my questions at https://kriesi.at/support/topic/how-to-use-character-map-in-v2-3/ ? The charcodes I use on the site are not displaying anymore after upgrading to v2.3.
Also, how can I change the default social icons? Now the icons we need are available but I don’t know how to add them to the top nav bar since they are not on the drop down list in the “header” settings.
Thanks!
October 3, 2013 at 3:59 pm #169974Hi!
Please do not try and direct us to other topics. We have a queue system and go by posted response in a topic and will often tag at topic and discuss it if we are trying to find a bug fix before responding.
I’ve found that many shortcodes need to be used in a regular visual editor and are just not compatible with the advanced layout editor. It just depends on how the individual plugin and shortcodes are coded. Hopefully in time we can find a way around it.

DevinOctober 4, 2013 at 10:17 am #170372Thank you, Devin.
I realized this might be an issue that no fix is currently available with the visual editor and I have found a way to get around with it.
Sorry about directing you to the other topics I posted. Didn’t mean to interrupt your workflow.
Thanks again!
