I have a problem with my Enfold installation: I cannot create or edit blog entries anymore:

    • I can duplicate posts but not edit them.
    • I cannot create new blog post

The only thing that happens if I click on either ‘edit’ any given blog post or ‘add post’ one of the two empty areas appear instead of the advanced editor I am used to.

    • WordPress is at version 6.8
    • Enfold is at version 7.1
    • PHP is at version 8.1.32-bookworm.0

Enfold has been newly uploaded – no change.

    Thanks for any help.
    Magnus

What is the correct way of using the list code? This look absolutely horrible here!

    Hi,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

Did you install the Classic Editor plugin? Please disable it temporarily, then select an editor in the Enfold > Theme Options > Select your editor settings. If the issue persists, try temporarily disabling the plugins, then post the login details in the private field. Make sure that the theme is updated to version 7.1.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Thanks Ismael:

This is a longer reply with probably a hint to a solution…

    (1) Plugins:
I have the following plugins installed and active:

    • No Self Ping, Version 1.2
    • Smash Balloon Instagram Feed, Version 6.8.0
    • WP Mail SMTP, Version 4.4.0
    • WPForms Lite, Version 1.9.4.2
    • Yoast Duplicate Post, Version 4.5

See also screenshot attached. So no Classic Editor plugin.

    (2) Users (maybe the issue lays here?):
I have created a temporary admin login, see private box. It will be disabled once the issue is addressed.

HOWEVER, here comes the catch: After testing the temporary account I noticed that I can edit/create posts with the new temporary admin account but not with the old ones (like WP-admin or small-luxury-world), although the first one is an admin as well and the latter an editor. Could it be that has to do with the email addresses of these accounts as those non-working ones have @theeclecticum.com addresses, i.e., blog associated?

To make things easier for you I also provided the WP-admin credentials.

    Thanks,
    Magnus

    Hi,

    Thank you for the info.

You may have forgotten to include the site URL. Please add it in the private field. If the older account can’t create posts, it might be an issue with the user role or capabilities. Have you installed a user role plugin before? You may need to remove the old admin accounts and replace them with new ones.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

ups, sorry for that – see private box:

Tried to set role of ‘WP-admin’ to normal subscriber and back to admin – but problem with this account persists. No, never used a user role plugin. Shall I (and if so, which)? Thanks!

    Hi,

We tried creating posts and pages (see private field) with the temp account and everything seems to be working as it should. If the issue persists with the old user accounts, create a site backup, delete them all, then recreate them again from scratch. Let us know the result.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Dear Ismael:

thanks – I will try that but before I have one question: all our blog post carry the author’s name which is automatically displayed. What happens if I remove the respective author’s account – will the old author’s name still be displayed?

    Thanks,
    Magnus
