We have a website that is running Enfold, and it shows the API key is active, but it has never provided an update. It says, “No Updates available. You are running the latest version! (4.2.3),” but Enfold is currently on version 6.0.4. Please advise.

Thank you for the inquiry.
The update API is no longer valid in version 4.2.3, so you won’t be able to update the theme via dashboard. You will need to download the theme from your Themeforest account and update the theme manually via FTP this time. Please check the link below for more info.

I’ll enter the IP as the host and then enter the database username and password, but it says “Critical error: Could not connect to server.” I have cPanel, but it won’t allow me to upload entire folders. Every file has to be uploaded individually, and every single folder and subfolder needs to be manually created. There has to be an easier way.

You can try to upload the theme like it was new, then select to overwrite the old version. If you still need help with access to FTP, then please reach out to your hosting provider for further help.

RikardSeptember 16, 2024 at 2:31 pm #1467096If I uploaded the theme as if it were new, that would override my client’s website, and we would have to start from scratch by building it all over again. I’ll ask my hosting provider how to upload a folder.

Have you modified the parent theme? If not, then all your settings and database should be safe. I would recommend that you keep a backup of the site and theme settings before updating anything though.
