    Hi Support,

I tried to add a custom code snippet to enable the ALB editor on the woocommerce shop page detailed here:

    Shop

However, something went wrong, and it didn’t work, and I now have two issues that need to be fixed.

    1) the site now has a white border around all the content on the homepage; the other pages don’t seem to be affected.
    2) when I go to edit any page, the ALB no longer loads on the back end; all I see are the page’s shortcode and nothing else.

I tried updating the theme to the latest version, but that hasn’t helped.

I’d be very grateful if you could help me get these issues fixed, please.

    Thanks

    Hey nickroy1,
Please try removing the code snippet that you added, if this doesn’t help please include an admin login in the Private Content area so we can be of more assistance.

    Best regards,
    Mike

Hi Mike, I tried undoing it, but it didn’t work.

I’ve added login details in private content.

    Thanks

    Hi,
I see your WordPress ▸ Appearance ▸ Theme File Editor is disabled, did you add the code to your functions.php via FTP?
Did you already remove it or do you get an error message when you try to remove it?
Perhaps rolling your server back to the last backup before you added the code would be the easiest solution.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

I used a plugin to add the code called “Code Snippets”, but when I realised it had messed everything up, I first removed the snippet add_theme_support( 'avia_custom_shop_page' ); and then when that didn’t do anything I removed the plugin.

I checked in cPanel but unfortunately, there are no backups.

    Thanks

    Hi,
You homepage had a border around it because it had been saved as a Block Editor page:
    Enfold_Support_4167.jpeg
I switch it back to a Advanced Layout Builder page and saved it for you.
I also tested a few pages and the ALB worked on all the pages.
Please check and then ask your web host about your cPanel backups, typically cPanel creates a backup each week, you may wish to enable this.

    Best regards,
    Mike

Hi Mike, It’s great you resolved the frontend display issue; thanks!

I just logged in to check the ALB was loading in the back end but all I see is a blank, light grey screen where the ALB should be. I also tried emptying the cache and re logging in but its just a blank grey screen again.

Its like that when I try to edit any of the pages.

    Hi,
Try using the login you posted for us, because I’m not seeing this.

    Best regards,
    Mike

Hi Mike, yes that worked and is now displaying correctly.

Does this mean the other admin login has become corrupted? Do you know any way to fix that?

    Thanks again!

    Hi,
I’m not sure why this has occurred and I don’t think there is a fix for it, try creating yourself a new admin login and if that works also delete your old login.

    Best regards,
    Mike
