    Hallo,

    Danke.

    Hey germanvoice,
As I understand your favicon was working originally, but after installing some plugins it stopped working.
Please try adding a favicon.ico to your root directory via FTP or your webhost file manager, this is the default location that many web browsers look for a favicon.
You can convert your favicon png or jpg image to a ico and upload it to your root directory.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Thank You Mike!
    You understould right.

    But it did not work:
In the root directory (of wordpress) was just a faicon.ico.
I overwrite it with my new selfmade favicon.ico – which had exactly the same size – and neither in Chrome nor in firefox is my favicon to be seen.

Can we force it a bit by CSS?

    Thank You – Jürgen :)

    Hi,
Can you include a link to your site and FTP access so we can check, typically after clearing your browser cache this should work. Are you using Chrome and Firefox on Widows or Mac?
I wonder if one of your plugins added a rule in the .htaccess file for favicon like this:

    RewriteCond favicon.ico
    RewriteRule .* path/to/shared/favicon.ico [L]
    -or-
    Options +FollowSymLinks
    RewriteRule ^favicon.ico path_to_favicon_folder/favicon.ico [L]

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi,
Thank you for the link to your site and the FTP login, but I don’t see a user name, only a password.
I see that your favicon jpg file in the theme settings is http and not https for SSL.
Your logo image is also giving a Mixed Content error for http
Please check your theme settings for the logo and favicon and ensure that the URL for both are https and correct as necessary.
Also check WordPress ▸ Settings ▸ General ▸ Site Address and WordPress ▸ Settings ▸ General ▸ WordPress Address and ensure that the URL for both are https
Then clear your browser cache and check. If this doesn’t correct then include the FTP user name and if you don’t mind perhaps a admin login to your site, I think the error is about your SSL status.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi,
Thanks, from FTP it looks good, did you check the URLs in your theme settings?

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi,
Please note the urls above, all start with http please change them to https
Also do this for your logo

    Thank You so much, Mike.
    A wonder happened, it works.
    I don`t believe it.

But here seems to be a general error:
I took the images out of the media and did not type the address with the hand.

    Hi,
Glad to hear this helped, now please check the settings
WordPress ▸ Settings ▸ General ▸ Site Address and WordPress ▸ Settings ▸ General ▸ WordPress Address and ensure that the URL for both are https

    Best regards,
    Mike
