    My Enfold Theme has just disappeared from my themes folder? I built a Child Theme from it for the actual site.
    I got a critical error that wouldnt allow me into the Dashboard but got the wordpress recovery mode link via email which I used. I found this message on the Themes page:
    Broken Themes
    The following themes are installed but incomplete.
    Name Description
    Enfold This theme failed to load properly and was paused within the admin backend.

    I turns out the whole theme seems to have disappeared!
    If I re-purchase a new Enfold theme and upload it the wordpress site will it link automatically to the Child Theme built from the old Enfold Theme?

    Hey markpay10,
    Thanks for the link to your site when I go to /wp-content/themes/enfold/style.css on your site I see your Enfold stylesheet and see that you are using v4.5.6 so your theme is still in place.
    Have your checked to see if your webhost has a working backup from before this error occurred?
    Your version doesn’t support PHP v8 or the latest WordPress, if you changed your PHP version just before this occurred try going back to PHP v7.4 on your server, perhaps your server automatically changed your PHP version so please check.
    Otherwise I would recommend downloading the latest installable WP version from your Theme Forest account and upload it to your site via FTP.

    Please note that you don’t need to change anything with your child theme, and don’t try to overwrite the /wp-content/themes/enfold/ directory with the FTP files, this may leave old unused files behind and cause errors, instead delete the /enfold/ directory and upload the new files in a new directory.
    Perhaps a full backup in your server tools would be a good idea.

    Thanks for your very prompt response Mike, really appreciate it.
    I would rather amend the site so its future proof, so if I purchase a fresh version of Enfold, delete the old version and upload the new theme via ftp it will work with WordPress 6.2.2 and PHP 8.0? And link to my Old Child Theme?
    I’m with Fasthosts, I need to arrange automatic backup, thats my fault.

    Just a quick thank you. I downloaded a new Enfold Theme and uploaded it and the site is back up and running.

    Hi,
    Glad to hear that you have this sorted out, you should have no issues with PHP v8+ and future WordPress versions but I recommend updating your site with each theme update that is available.
    I also recommend enabling automatic server backups for both files and database, most errors will require a database roll back.
