Hello
When I update our site to WordPress 6, the front end goes blank and the navigation disappears. The admin menu still works and the back end works fine.I am also getting a “Updating Failed The Response Is Not a Valid JSON Response’ Error” when the block editor is enabled.
I reverted back to WordPress 5.9, site works again. I have created a subdirectory copy of the website so that I can try to get WordPress 6 to work without bringing down the actual site. I will past in the private content area the links both the actual site and the testing copy. Can I add someone to either website and get this fixed and updated? I don’t care if the main site or the subdirectory gets fixed, either is fine. I can replace the main site with the subdirectory if you prefer to work on the sub. The main goal here is to have updated WordPress working with our update enfold 5.4
Thank you!
February 7, 2023 at 6:25 am #1396926Hey Greatersun,
Thank you for the inquiry.
Have you tried to temporarily disable the Enfold > Performance > File Compression settings? You should also disable the plugins temporarily, and see if there is any conflicting plugin that requires updating or fixing.

Thanks for the reply. I just disabled the plugins and it is still the white screen. It only happens when I update from WordPress 5.9 to 6.1. Thanks for your help.

February 8, 2023 at 5:18 am #1397079Hi,
Thank you for the info.
We enabled the debug mode in the test site and got this error while loading the site.
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in wp-includes/nav-menu-template.php on line 213
You may need to increase the max_execution_time limit as described below.

IsmaelFebruary 8, 2023 at 5:52 am #1397085Thanks Ismael,
I added the line to the wp-config file, and now it says “Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 120 seconds exceeded in wp-includes/nav-menu-template.php on line 213”.
February 8, 2023 at 6:27 am #1397091Hi,
Have you tried upgrading PHP to version 8.2? We checked the theme options and inspected the site health, but we can’t find anything unusual with them. We also checked the menu items and removed one of the items with an email link because the error seems to be pointing to the menu template, but it didn’t change anything. Upgrading PHP to the latest version might help.
Best regards,
IsmaelFebruary 8, 2023 at 6:30 am #1397093Yes, I tried upgrading to the php version to 8.2 and downgrading to 7.8. Still the same, so I set it back to php 8.1.
February 8, 2023 at 11:08 am #1397134Hi,
Your page loads fine when I remove the menu items. Please add your menu items one by one and check the frontend to find out which item is causing the issue.
Best regards,
YigitFebruary 8, 2023 at 4:57 pm #1397197Thank you! That’s great news. I think that resolves the issue. I really appreciate your help.
