    Hi,

    I am developing a new website with the enfold theme.

    I want a holding page whilst the main website is being developed.

    What is your recommendation on best practice.

    eg.
    1/
    a/ Put a holding demo page on the main domain based on Enfold ‘Coming Soon’ demo
    b/ Develop the new site at domain/dev on a separate database
    Or
    2/
    a/ Develop the site in domain but have a holding page – can I set Maintenance Mode for a holding page and develop the site at the same time or not?

    Please confirm.

    Hey woogie07,

    That is totally optional. You will not have license issues if you prefer to develop on a staging site.

    If the site has traffic and you are making modifications to PHP files, I recommend a staging site. So in case something goes wrong and you blow up the site, visitors will not be aware of it :)

    If you are making only styling changes, then I would enable the Maintenance Mode in Enfold theme options. Once you are done, you can simply disable it.
