Hello
My website has a Vimeo video embedded in the background, I can also upload the .mp4 to the server, my issue is that my client seems to have to refresh his page to see the video playing, what is the best way to add video as a background and have it play automatically on all browsers with the most luck?
Thanks

Thank you for the inquiry.
The video in the site above plays automatically on our end. Did you mute the video? Please note that only muted videos are allowed to play automatically on page load.
Best regards,

I am trying everything under the sun it works in every browser but safari… which of course the browser my old-school client is using… smh…
I need to get this going and I have multiple threads but I know this is a new issue since a lot of my other sites are now having this issue, is there any way we can look into getting this looked at and added to the next theme update? it all happened when the last WP update came out –
Thanks
BNovember 29, 2022 at 8:02 am #1374238Hi,
Background videos still work correctly on our installation, so this probably an issue with a third-party script or plugin, or because of the browser itself. Have you tried disabling the plugins temporarily? What is the version of the Safari browser that your client using?

IsmaelJanuary 6, 2023 at 7:24 pm #1377882@ismael I am having the same problem with one of my client’s websites (see link below). I have made sure that both Chrome and Safari are up to date, as well as my theme, wordpress, and plugins. I haven’t had this problem before.
January 6, 2023 at 7:39 pm #1377887Please bring this up to support and have this bug fixed in the next theme update. Having the background video work on some browsers and not on others has been a big issue for the past few months – please bring up to support so they can resolve this with the next theme update
Thanks
BJanuary 7, 2023 at 12:02 pm #1377917Hi schwabino,
I can’t see any problems on my end either using Safari 15.3. We can’t fix problems which we can’t reproduce, so we would need a sure way of reproducing the problem you are seeing on your end in order to look into it.
Best regards,
