Hi, I have two questions regarding cookies.

    1. Where can I set what a cookie option does that is listed under “cookie handling”? E.g. I have one option labelled “accept” which is set to “accept settings”, but where do I specify which settings are accepted?

    2. On my website you have to accept cookies, so the embedded Vimeo videos can be loaded. The problem is, on first visit of my website, when you accept cookies, the embedded Videos aren’t loaded immediately, but you have to refresh the website. Can this be changed (maybe by combining the acceptance with an automated refresh)?

    Hey ThomasN001,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

1.) You have to add another button that opens the privacy modal popup which contains the privacy toggles by default, or a button that redirects to the privacy policy page. This gives the user the option to toggle other privacy options (analytics, maps, videos etc) using the privacy toggles. Only privacy toggles that are enabled will be accepted when the user click the accept button.

2.) There is actually an auto refresh option in the Cookie Handling > Advanced Options panel. Please look for the Auto Reload Page settings.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Thanks Ismael, the refresh setting works. I have to look into the other options, yet. Keep you posted…
EDIT: Regarding your first answer… That wasn’t actually what I meant, but indirectly you answered my question, nonetheless.

Thanks again for your help. You can close the topic.

    Regards,
    Thomas

Hi Ismael, something really weird is going on… Everything worked flawlessly, but now I wanted to make a change to the text of the cookie banner, but in “Cookie Handling” the box for the text isn’t there anymore. The same is the case for the option to activate the cookie consent message. Needless to say, the cookie banner itself doesn’t work anymore, either. What’s going on here? Especially since I didn’t make any more changes. The only thing which comes to mind. Yesterday I got an email that my caching plug-in (WP Super Cache) was updated. Could that cause such a problem? (Although I have deactivated it and it didn’t fix the problem.)

SOLVED: The browser add on “I don’t care about cookies” was the culprit. Sorry for bothering…

    Hi,

Great, I’m glad that you found the cause of the problem, and thanks for the update. Please let us know if you should need any further help on the topic, or if we can close it.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
