Since installing Enfold 5 on two of my sites:
    http://www.theanukchronicles.com
    and
    http://www.badrabbitpictures.com

…load have increased from .000001seconds to a max today, September 30th 2022, to 63seconds. I contacted my service provider, who increased my memory for wordpress site, and made sure everything was up to date. Unfortunately that did not help.

My media library on both sites carry a minimal file size…I’m talking about 448KB for an image on the main page for instance. Videos are streamed in…and I deleted all my unused, non-enfold plugins. Yet the lag time exists. I have had zero newsletter sign ups since installing and using Enfold theme. I use MailerLite by the way, just in case their code causes issues….and Mailchimp – switched from their service as an answer to the slow down…yet nothing changed. Their code still remains in badrabbitpictures.com.

Please help…I do hope someone gets back to me.
Email: (Email address hidden if logged out)

    Best to you.

    Hey amoham4935473,

Sorry for the delay. We tried to check the performance of the site using PageSpeed Insights tool but it cannot load the site at all, which means that the server is unavailable for some reason. We also checked the status of the site using httpstatus.io and it always return an error.

    Error message
Connection to the server hosting the URL fails.

There might be a plugin or script conflict somewhere in your installation or this might be due to a recent change in the server configuration. Please contact your hosting provider for additional assistance.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Thank you so much for responding.

I should of mentioned previously that if you stop the page load and refresh, the page will load in a short time…not by much, maybe 14 to 60 seconds.
I spent an hour with my hosting provider – domain.com. They checked both websites and could not find anything. They made some suggestions which I previously complied with – such as:
Optimize photos – I did this by severely reducing the quality of pics to mere KB’s per photo.
Delete plugins – I deleted unused plugins, whatever is there is what I use.
Check others – I only use two API’s – MailerLite and reCaptcha…I used Mailchip but deleted that, and removed the html codes if you’re wondering.
File Size – I’ve reduced my site to bare bones…videos stream in from YouTube, and I kept the page count small.

My provider did optimize the cache and compression, and previously increased my memory to 512.

I’ve gotten 1 subscriber since installing Enfold, and that was by luck they said – as they were about to leave the loading screen.

I don’t know what’s happening. I do not use a VPS, rather a shared server, and they claim everything is good on their end. Please check out the site if you can – with credentials provides if you like. I am desperate and would appreciate any help or advice you can offer.

    Thank you

    Hi,

The site doesn’t load immediately because the browser has to wait for at least 12-20 seconds before the server responds and push the resources to the client (our browser). Please note that this wait duration has nothing to do with the theme or any resources in site, and completely depends on the connection between the server and the client. After the server responds, we usually have to wait for 6 to 8 seconds before the resources (images, css, scripts etc) are completely loaded. The size of the home page (badrabbit) is more than 10 MB, so it is not small. (see screenshot)

    Screenshot: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjjTfXSRbKTvyS39t7iDmsI2YDih?e=twQgch

The server response time improves to around 6-10 seconds when we checked the site again today. Did you make any changes to the site? The size of the page is still larger than 10 MB. Slow response is expected on a shared server.

Please try to temporarily disable the Enfold > Performance > File Compression settings, then purge the cache. You may need to upgrade your server as well.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Thank you Ismael, I will make changes to the badrabbitpictures site. I did not make any changes, however, I have been in constant contact with domain.com help desk…whatever changes were made came from their end. They still insist that it is not their problem. I on the other hand, am convinced that it is.

I thank you for your assistance, and apologize if I came off a bit rude – it was not my intention. I love Enfold as I have stated before…and will continue to use it. I will more than likely switching my server provider…and thank you for your assistance once again.

    Best to you and everyone.
