When I do an overlay on the Color Section, it eliminates the background picture, even when the transparency is set at .01. This is a new problem, which this page illustrates. The section with the logos should be an image background with an overlay like many of the color sections below, but instead it is just a white background. https://avaansmedia.com/our-capabilties/our-pr-work/

    Hi tsays,

Thanks for giving us admin access.
I have deactivated the WP-Optimize plugin and it seems to be properly working now.
    Please check your site.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

@Nikko thanks. What plugin do you recommend for speeding up the theme? Because my site is so picture dependent, I need something so my SEO rankings don’t plumment.

    #1362830

@nikko, that actually didn’t solve the systemic problem:

    #1362845

Digging a bit deeper and experimenting a little, this seems to happen when the overlay is .5 or higher. I can’t possibly test every page. But this is still happening even with the plugin deactivated, so that isn’t the issue.

    Hi tsays,

Try using WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache.
As for the issue, it does not happen on my wordpress install, also you can see this in our demo for example in Enfold 2017 – https://kriesi.at/themes/enfold-2017/elements/color-section/ which uses 0.7 in overlay. However since it does persist on your site, then please check if your hosting has a built-in caching, it might be preventing the changes you made from appearing instantly.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

@nikko – I really think this is a theme quirk. When I adjust the overlay to .5 or less opacity, it works perfectly. Can we please dig a bit deeper on this one?

    Hi,
Thanks for the login, I took a look at your /our-capabilties/dtc-pr/ and did see your issue when changing the overlay opacity, but after testing I believe part of the issue is due to the theme minifying the cache at Enfold Theme Options ▸ Performance ▸ JS & CSS file merging and compression and your caching plugin WP-Optimize also minifying the cache, such minifying minified files can cause errors. Once I disabled the theme compression and manually cleared the page cache and minified files for every edit I was able to change the overlay opacity, right now it is 0.7 and works fine. While you could disable WP-Optimize and only use the theme compression, I assumed you preferred the WP-Optimize plugin.
I had also found the Autoclear Autoptimize Cache plugin activated but it require the Autoptimize plugin to do anything, so I disabled it in my testing. The Autoptimize plugin is another one that conflicts in this way, minifying minified files.
You are also getting this error Uncaught SyntaxError: Invalid or unexpected token:
    (window.yoastPremiumWebpackJsonp=window.yoastPremiumWebpackJsonp||[]).push([[15],{0:function(module,exports){eval("module.exports = React;//# sourceURL=[module]\n;
it points to your Yoast Premium plugin, but I don’t know what the issue is.
Anyways, I would agree with Nikko that this is a plugin issue and can not be recreated with the theme alone, if you continue to use the plugin just note that you will need to manually clear the cache and minified files after each edit.

    Best regards,
    Mike

Thanks for reviewing it a little more deeply. I think I had the theme’s JS & CSS off previously and maybe it turned back on when I switched hosting (which I did recently) or during a recent update. Appreciate the additional help and insights.
