Thanks for the login details. I tried editing your front page, but the backend won’t load at all. Is that what you are seeing on your end too? I’m seeing 403 and 429 errors on the page, but they don’t seem to be theme related. What happens if you switch to a default WordPress theme? If you should need further help, then please share server error logs with us. It might be a good idea if you reach out to your hosting provider about this problem as well.
Best regards,

Thanks for that. The link is asking me to login into WPEngine though, please share those details with us as well.

Thanks for the update. The general WordPress backend is loading fine on my end too, but when trying to edit the page in private, then I’m seeing a blank page with the error messages I referred to previously. Is that what you are seeing on your end too? We would need to see server error logs to help you out further. The good people at WPEngine might be able to help you out as well.

Thanks for that. The file you linked to is not loading on my end, could you try uploading it to Dropbox or Google Drive instead please?

Thanks for that. I’m only seeing notices in that log though, there are no errors in there? Also, did you try reaching out to WPEngine support, or switching to a default WordPress theme?

Thank you for the update.
We get a lot of 429 errors when editing a page, regardless of the active editor ( default, classic or the Advance Layout Builder ). We also noticed that the site contains an older version of the theme and almost all plugins are outdated.
To fix the issue, please upgrade WordPress to 6.0.1 and update the theme to v5.1.1, then upgrade all plugins to the latest versions. After the update/upgrade, toggle or temporarily disable the Enfold > Performance > File Compression settings and purge the cache.
IMPORTANT: Please make sure to create a site backup or a restore point before doing the steps above.
Best regards,

Thanks for the update. The same 429 errors are there when a default WordPress theme is active, which means that it’s not a theme problem. If it was, then all installations would have the same problem, and that is not the case. Please see screenshot in private to see all the error messages present when a default WordPress theme is active. Please try reaching out to WPEngine support again with this information.

Thanks for the update. So how does that explain the same error being there when Enfold is not active? This is very likely a local server or site problem, as we have had no other reports from other user having the same problem, and we can’t see it happening on any of our test installations.
I haven’t worked with WPEngine for a long while, but I remember it being easy to create staging/development sites using their hosting. Would you be able to add something like that which we could access? It would be great if it was a clean WordPress installation, without any plugins or themes.
Best regards,

Thanks for that. If your staging site works as it should, then the reply from WPEngine makes no sense. Do you know if there are any big differences between the two sites? Did you try any general debugging on the live site, such as deactivating all plugins or activating the parent theme?
Best regards,
