Dear Enfold team. I have about 4 to 5 enfold websites by now and in one of them the Advanced layout builder seems to be struggling. It simply doesn’t load the page builder (the loading symbol keeps rotating). When I disable the Yoast SEO plugin it seems to work a little bit better, but that is really not an option…plus Yoast SEO works fine on the other Enfold sites, so there must be more to it.
Furthermore, even when I disable Yoast, this site is very slow to load the page content and some elements, such as ‘highlighted image’ doesn’t even load on the right side in the editor. FYI: all sites are hosted on the same server, so this is not the reason. And yes, I did disable all the plugins already, to cover the standard reply ;) .. Yoast came out as one that impacts the editor the most. I also tested several browsers.
on top of that…even when I disable Yoast SEO, the site is very sensitive to breaking somehow, when I click refresh or ‘save’ too soon or work on several pages at the same time. Again, with other Enfold sites this isnt the case.
you’ll find the login credentials in the private content. I made a backup just in case. hope you can locate and fix the issue.
July 20, 2022 at 7:32 am #1358844Hey the_digital_manager,
Thank you for the inquiry.
Is the site hosted on the same server as the other sites? The site is indeed quite slow and we get an internal server error whenever we try to edit pages, or when we visit the dashboard panels a few times.
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator at –@– to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.We got the error above after disabling the WP Timeline and WP Table Builder plugins.
Best regards,
IsmaelJuly 20, 2022 at 8:35 am #1358854Hi Ismael, other sites are hosted on the same server, whilst they are much faster.
I get the internal server error quite often as well on this particular site, but not on others. I use the timeline and table builder and yoast plugins on these other sites too…and there everything runs smoothly.so, what now?
July 20, 2022 at 10:28 am #1358875Hi the_digital_manager,
How much memory is set on this site? I tried to go to Tools > Site Health to check more information regarding the server however I’m just getting Error 504 Gateway Time-out or Error 500 Internal Server Error.
The issue seems to be more on the server side, can you try to temporarily switch to a default WordPress theme and see if the issue is fixed with it?Best regards,
NikkoJuly 20, 2022 at 7:20 pm #1358938Hi Nikko,
I contacted the server prodiver. They changed some setting, such as raised the max_execution_time and max_input_time from php from 30 to 300 seconds.
Also, they upgraded the server, from 1 core and 512 memory to 2 cores and 1024 memory.
I think it works a bit better, but some elements, such as ‘highlighted images’ still load very slowly (much later).
Can you dive into this with me and see if things run smoother / how they can run even smoother?
July 22, 2022 at 2:07 am #1359116Hi the_digital_manager,
Would you allow us to temporarily deactivate plugins as well as switch themes?
Also, please give us FTP access as well and post the credentials privately.Best regards,
NikkoJuly 25, 2022 at 12:35 pm #1359377Hi Nikko,
what steps should I take before you do so?
You will ensure that you put the site in maintenance mode? We naturally don’t want customers to see an empty other theme.
Can we schedule this? When are you available? Please do not start before we scheduled a time slot.- This reply was modified 2 years, 4 months ago by the_digital_manager.

No worries, how about setting up a staging site instead?
Here’s how you can make one: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-staging-environment-for-a-wordpress-site/
So we can debug the issue without taking down your site.Best regards,

August 9, 2022 at 10:45 am #1361224Hi,
Thanks for that. I checked a few pages, and the Layout Builder seems to be loading fine on some, but not on others. Is that what you are seeing on your end too? I wanted to upload a fresh copy of the latest version of the theme, but the FTP details only seem to lead to the live site. Could you share FTP details for the staging site as well please?
Best regards,
RikardAugust 18, 2022 at 9:17 pm #1362128Hi Rikard, I have the same problem. Often the layout builder is incomplete though: it doesn’t load the ‘highlighted image’ and several other options on the right hand side.
The thing is that I’ve built several sites with Enfold, they don’t vary a lot, but this site is the only site which has this issue. I hope you can find and solve the bug, or to provide me with steps how I can tackle this.
loging credentials for the ftp are provided in private content.

August 24, 2022 at 4:36 pm #1362647Hi,
Thanks for that. I’ve uploaded our latest development version of the theme for you, but the problem didn’t go away when your child was active. It did go away when I activated the new parent theme though, so it’s likely that the problem is coming from the child. Could you try removing everything from the child, then add your functions back one by one to see when the problem starts please?
Best regards,
Rikard -
