    Hi,

We use our WordPress/WooCommerce website as a portal for regular customers to see what stage their orders are at. We’re a clothing print business and only print in bulk eg 100 – 20,000 units. Our customers send the garments into us and send us a Purchase Order for just the decoration/print that is required. So we manually enter their order on our system on the back end instead of them placing an order on the website. Then every step of the way we update them once we’ve done the prep for their order, when we start printing it, when we finish printing it and when we despatch it etc so they always know where we are and when to expect it. I have also started using another plugin called MyWorks which allows the website to tell Quickbooks Online to create and invoice for the order and to send it to the customer. I have two issues, the first one is when we create an order, it comes up with a page saying there has been a critical error. When we spoke to EasySpace who handle our server which hosts the website, they said there seems to be an issue with the theme.

The second issue is that the MyWorks Sync seems to keep disconnecting from Quickbooks Online. After speaking to their technicians they have said that the issue us again with the theme. Please can you help with this ASAP?

    Hey Daviddjh,
Thanks for the link to your site, but it sounds like the first error you post about only occurs in the backend, so please include an admin login in the Private Content area and a test page/order we can try on and a screencast of the steps to create the error so we can try.
My question is did this used to work and then suddenly not work? Perhaps a new plugin (MyWorks) was added and now you see the error?
have you tried disabling your plugins to see if the error is resolved?

Let’s look at one issue at a time, but is this the MyWorks plugin you are referring to?

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
Please see details below to get onto the site as requested.
To Place an order: Please got to WooCommerce > Orders > New Order
Please Use the product <Screen Printing>
    Use 500 Units @ £0.27
    Set Up Fee – Base Screen x 1 @ £15.00
    Delivery x 1 @ £14.50

This is the most common order. Please use customer (Email address hidden if logged out) as this shows the error.

I’ve tried disabling all the plug ins we don’t urgently need to see if this rectifies the issue however, all the plugins still on the site are needed with the settings they have. Also, this problem has been happening for a couple of years at least. We’ve been able to put up with it now the the disconnection issue is too much for us as we really need it working. I probably should have got onto this sooner but was caught up with other jobs

    Hi,
Thanks for the feedback, so you have been experiencing this issue for a few years, is the site that you linked to a test site?
I see that you have many plugins and 7 of them a third-party woocommerce addons, so please try disabling all plugins except woocommerce and MyWorks to see if the error is from the MyWorks plugin.
I know above that you said that you tried disabling all the plug-ins we don’t urgently need but this sounds like you may have also left those other 7 plugins activated, if woocommerce and MyWorks doesn’t create the error, try activating the other plugins one at a time until the error does occur.
Please keep in mind that sometimes errors may occur when multiple plugins conflict with each other, even ones that have not caused issues in the past.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you.

So I’ve disabled the plugins as you requested and still have the same error. I turned them all back on one at a time and still get the same error. I’ve tried swapping themes and trying again and don’t get the error so there must be an issue with the theme clashing with the MyWorks Sync. Can you please look into this?

    Best Regards

    Hi,
Thanks for the feedback, I tried to login and follow your steps above to see the error with MyWorks Sync, but I was not able to follow the steps, I went to the backend WooCommerce > Orders but didn’t find “new orders” or the product “Screen Printing”
Please create a screencast of the steps to see the error so we can view the steps and then follow along. Perhaps then we can get an idea what is causing the error.
This is a test site correct? So we can disable plugins without causing any impact to your business?
    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hey,

I’ve created some screenshots to go through the steps of how we create orders but not sure how to upload them?

    #1388050

    Hi,
To add a screenshot please try using an Screenshot service and pasting the image URL in your post, or you use DropBox, Google Drive, etc.
If it is easier you can Record the screen on your Mac or for Windows use the free Open source ShareX see this easy article: How to record screen on a Windows computer using ShareX tool

    Hi,

Please see below link to the screen recording as requested. The final part where I click on the MyWorks plug in is where you can see if it’s connected or disconnected. It rarely stays connected for more than an hour which is where it’s clashing with the theme.

    Hi,
Thanks for the video that helped a lot since there were so many steps, I followed along with the browser console open looking for any errors and only saw

yith-fields.min.js?ver=3.9.17:1 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading 'focus')
        at yith-fields.min.js?ver=3.9.17:1:15672

for your YITH WooCommerce plugin, do you need this activated? Does the error still occur when it’s deactivated?
So after following all of the steps I saw in your MyWorks ▸ Queue it showed 0 as in your video, but I note that
MyWorks ▸ Connection shows the status of Active and Connected.
Since I didn’t see any other errors in the console so I’m not sure what the error could be.
I have asked the rest of the team if they have any ideas, thank you for your patience.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
Thanks for getting back to me. I’m not very good at Coding so what does this error mean sorry?

Also, we’re still having the MyWorks Sync disconnect pretty much every hour. We do need the Yith Plug In’s and the People at MyWorks said that the errors they were getting were to do with the theme, not a plug in?

    Best Regards
    Jack

    Hi,
Sorry I don’t know what the error means other than it is from yith-fields.min.js
I have asked the rest of the team if they have any ideas about your MyWorks Sync plugin, but have not heard any ideas yet, since your site is not giving any errors that we can see about the MyWorks Sync plugin it would seem to be in the communication somewhere but I’m not sure how we would be able to track this down.
I hope the rest of the team will have an idea about this, Thanks for your patience.

    Best regards,
    Mike
