Hi,
I’ve upgraded the Enfold child theme and the footer area has gone back to a default setup. The old widgets are still visible on the backend side but not on the site.
Thanks in advance for your help
AlexMay 13, 2022 at 6:40 pm #1351695Hi Alex,
Are you overriding header.php or footer.php in your child theme? If so, then please replace those files with the parent theme files, then add your customisations back in after that.
If you need further help, then please post admin WordPress login details in private.
Best regards,
RikardMay 16, 2022 at 5:44 am #1351893Hi Rikard,
I am facing the exact same issue after the upgrade. As per above instruction I went ahead and used the footer.php from the main theme and did customization again. Now the issue is that when I am logged in to back-end of wordpress and I check the site footer is coming properly but when I log out the footer goes back to a defautl which is not set by me. it shows interesting links- category- pages- arcive i 4 different columns
Please help

RikardMay 16, 2022 at 5:01 pm #1351972Hi, I am facing same issue for deslaperij.nl
Other website modeo.nl does not face this problem.
both enfold 4.9.2.3 and PHP version 7.4.29I use enfold child theme: footer with socket and footer widgets
I do not understand your recommendation: “If so, then please replace those files with the parent theme files, then add your customisations back in after that.” I do not program in the backend myself, I only use the installed child theme of Enfold.
Hope you can help me
May 16, 2022 at 6:22 pm #1351980Hi JannyPolak,
Please look at the files in your child theme, are there any files called header.php or footer.php in there? If there are, then you need to replace those files with the content of the parent theme files, then add your customisations back in after that.
If you need further help, then please open a new thread and include WordPress admin login details in private, so that we can have a closer look at your site.
Best regards,
RikardMay 21, 2022 at 2:05 am #1352474Rikard’s initial instruction solved my same issue. I downloaded my child theme header.php file to retain record of customizations offline, then copied new header.php file from new parent theme. Both footer and sockets came back. Thank you.
