    Hi,

with your support I customized the flex masonry grid to show portfolio entries (with landscape tag) over 2 columns.
Is this also possible for a flex masonry gallery? I have a widget installed that applies categories to media elements. Could an image with the category “landscape” take two columns?

    Best regards,
    Vera

    Hey Vera,

I’m not sure I understand your intentions, could you post a link to where we can see the elements in question please? If you have screenshots highlighting what you would like to achieve, then please share them with us as well.

    Best regards,

    Hi Rikard,

the link shows a flexible masonry portfolio with images that are tagged “landscape” taking two columns. I would like to achieve the same look with a flexible (images not cropped) masonry gallery. If that is possible.

    Best regards,
    Vera

But isn’t it the case if you choose:
“Perfect Automatic Masonry: Display a grid where most images get the same size, only very wide images get twice the width and very high images get twice the height. To qualify for “very wide” or “very high” the image must have an aspect ratio of 16:9 or higher”

You had to think of the aspect ratio, and the image size to show : no scaling – thats all

    Hi,

but in the “perfect masonry” even with thumbnails “no scaling“ the images are cropped if they differ in ratio.

    Hi,

I have a widget installed that applies categories to media elements.

How do you apply the categories (landscape, portrait) to the images or media files? Are you using a plugin? Please ask the plugin author how can we retrieve the image categories so that we can create a condition or logic out of them.

In the enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcode-helpers/class-avia-masonry.php, you will find a function called ratio_check_by_tag which as the name suggests, checks for the posts tag and returns the appropriate orientation. We might be able to do the same thing with the image categories once we know how to retrieve them.
