    Hello,

I cant write in support area so thats why im writing here.
After the latest updates of enfold my footer broke.
I dont think it´s ok that i need to be affraid to update each time because your theme is overwriting og changing something!

I would like some help to solve this please or please extend the support, as this is an error in your product. An update should not remove the previous things i did!

    Hey lefteris,

Are you overriding footer.php or header.php in a child theme? If so, then please try to replace those files with the parent theme files, then add your customisations back in after that.

If we can’t edit or update our theme, then how could we possibly improve it? Please note that the structure of the files in question is rarely changed. If you are worried about things breaking on updates, then you should update on a staging or development site first.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

I don’t know. Just saw suddenly my footer was gone/reset. Love updates but don’t like updates that goes in and reset / remove existing work.
I wasn’t aware of this. If something removes a footer or header, then i believe the right thing would be to write it somewhere in a log or before the customer upgrades, so the customer can decide to do it on the proper moment.

Updates removing my content, that means more work for me and i don’t really have much spare time.
I believe my footer was ruined/reset for slot of weeks now.
    I don’t know how to fix now…

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. What exactly don’t you know how to fix? If you need help with your site, then we need admin WordPress and FTP login details. Please post them in private.

Updating and maintaining WordPress sites should be taken seriously. If not, they can break. If you don’t have time or the knowledge to do that, then you might want to consider hiring someone who can do it for you.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    did you get the information?

    Hi,

Thanks for that. I’ve replaced footer.php in your child theme with the new version from the parent. If you need anything from the old file, then it’s still in the child theme, named __footer.php.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
