We activated the “Modal Window Custom Content” under “Privacy Policy and Cookies” and defined some custom cookies like the Facebook/META Pixel. We could not manage so far blocking the cookie on the first request with the opened Cookie Consent Window. The Pixel fires a “Page View” on first load up. Enfold is just blocking the supported cookies.

    Here our configuration:

    Anything wrong with this?

    Hey DiniTech,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

What happens when you set the Compare Action settings to the third option (Cookie contains cookie name)? You should also try and disable the file compression or minification options temporarily.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael!

We tried all your advices and cookies still fire right at the start. In the documentation there is written that the cookies have to be in the same domain. META and Google set their cookies a little bit different in the domain:

    Hey!

    Thank you for the info.

Would you mind posting the FTP and WP login info so that we can test this further? Please post the details in the private field, and make sure that the theme is updated to version 4.9.1.

    Regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael!

We updated the theme to the latest version, error is still here. You can find the credentials in the private content box. It’s the Staging Environment and it’s backed up, so feel free to test everything you want.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the info.

All custom cookies are properly blocked when the plugins are deactivated. Prior to this, we get an error with the media element scripts which might be affecting the privacy options but we are not sure what is causing it. It might be from one of the video plugins.

    Please check the screenshot below.

    Hi Ismael!

Did you find out, which plugin is causing the error? Did you left the plugins for tracking active?

We are aware of the JS Errors. It is caused by the plugin Scrolly, but we have to find a propriate replacement for this first.

    Hi,

We disabled all plugins except for WPML and its extensions, and we keep them disabled for you to check. The custom cookies gets removed on page load after disabling most of the plugins. The issue with the custom cookies probably occurs because of the JS error.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Best regards,

    Hi Ismael!

For sure your cookie modal window is working without the plugins activated which are responsible for setting the custom cookies. ;)

I left activated the following plugins:

There is no JS Error, but it is still firing on site startup. Can you have a second look?

    Hi,

Sorry for the confusion. We thought that you manually added the Facebook Pixel code somewhere. We will get back to you once we have found the issue.

    Best regards,

    Hi Ismael!

How is it going? I need to get my staging environment back. ;)

We set up the cookie modal Window on our company page as well and we encountered the same error. This site has some few operational plugins installed without woocommerce or other big fancy stuff. I think, it’s common error with the theme.

You can take a look at http://www.dinitech.at, where the META Facebook Pixel still fires at startup.

    Hey!

We still can’t figure out why the custom cookie options are not working or why it is not able to remove the external cookies. The theme tries to disable the custom cookies by setting its value to false, but for some reason this is not working. Looks like the plugin is persistently registering the cookies regardless of the rules provided in the custom cookie settings, or it is just not possible to override and reset the _fbp or the _ga cookies once they are set.

We recommend using a different cookie plugin such as Borlabs Cookie or Complianz instead of the default privacy options in the theme.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Cheers!

It’s a real bummer, that the included theme feature does not work. So we have to install and use another plugin to accomplish the cookie management. However we will take a look into Borlabs.

Thanks for the help. Thread can be closed.

    Hi,

Sorry about that. It is just not possible to cover all bases in this case because of how varied external scripts such as fbp or ga set information or cookies in the local storage.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
